Factory seats on my 79 custom wrapped in perforated leather. Both front seats are heated and cooled. Bought seats out of a wrecked infinity that had all the heat and ac guts built into the seat. Took the guts out and built into the factory seats!!! The ac feels good on the bum!!!

1974 FJ40 SBC V8 350 TH400
Stock seats recovered by local upholstery shop $800 for both seats. Painted headrest black to match.
I want to go the stock direction with my 1970 FJ40. Either coral, black, or grey. I'll probably buy from Cruiser Corps or ??
Does anyone have a list of what all I need?
a) New covers as discussed.
b) Foam - do I need like 4 or more layers of 1" thick? Or do I need one layer of X thick? Can anyone tell me what worked for them?
c) Hog rings?
d) Screws?

I love my factory jump seats. They make a cruiser a cruiser. I've tried to make mods to make it more capable off-road, yet still keep the cruiser character. But on the trail for a whole day, I really feel sorry for friends sitting in the jump seats. Unless your 3 feet tall they aren't comfortable and border line torture. So I got some discovery 2 jump seats.
great!! I saw a pic a while ago and took me several days to figure out who and what. Thanks for sending. I used Mitsuibishi seats in my other one that bolt to the floor and fold flat and I have another set of flip/fold Mitsuibishi seats as well but the Defender seats just seem cleaner.I modified the brackets over time fyi.
