I just installed the new jw speaker 8800 evo 2's in my 88 fj62. In fact mine were plug and play. I was ready to encounter some problems, but I just straight swapped em and they were good to go. Jw does make the new evo 2 with heated lenses as well btw. Also my high beam indicator light does turn on in the dash. On the other hand lows go off when brights come on, but I don't see that as an issue. I know this didn't really help others solve their mystery wiring issues but idk maybe mine was rewired, I don't know what to look for. I can take a peek and report back if it helps anyone.

Would it be a bad idea to splice the harness extension hot wire on the high beam and tap into the low beam power wire? So when the highs came on they also power the low LEDs. Asking for a friend.

My FJ62 is in this same scenario [i used trucklite instead of JW], but had a a little more fiddling to do with the wires. I had to rearrange the wires from the new headlights to be in the order the original harness expected.

Low Beams
My low beams go off when i turn on high as well and a fellow member on this board suggested that i needed to ground a wire to make them stay on. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Majority of my driving is unfortunately in the city...so high beams are not really needed.

I just put the JW Evo 2 in my FJ62 and had to rearrange the wires to fit the existing harness. I doesn't sound like the wires on the lights come in a standard configuration.

I just put in Eagle lights E27270 light pair with flicker free harness. the are a direct plug-in and the high beam indicator works fine

Do you have anything other than the stock harness in your 60? Some have no issues with plug and play LEDs and others are not so lucky.

I ran the STARK LED bulbs in my old Roundeye housing for the last year and they work great. Problem is that there is no light direction and low and high are about the same. High beam comes on but with the non focused housing you get about the same light (which is a lot)

Another data point - I installed Rigid 55008's in my 86 FJ60. Bulbs were plug and play, everything works great except my high beam indicator isn't functional. Haven't tried to address it yet, still too enamored with the improvement in lighting to worry about anything else. I can see at night finally!

I started a thread a few days ago on this issue.

The vehicle in question here is not a 62, however, but a quad beam 80 series. Wiring diagram is pretty much the same.

The lights installed were Trucklite 4x6s, both highs and lows. Pretty much plug and play except for swapping the grounds within the H4 connector on the low beams, no big deal. Lights work as they should, high beam indicator works as it should.

The only thing is I can't figure out how to make the low beams stay on when I switch to high beams..

Hope to not hijack this thread. I have the upgraded ipf headlight wire harness with my halogens and would like to upgrade to ipf led H4. Will that now be plug and play since I have the upgraded harness installed?

Anybody running these?

Yep. Very nice product.

Right now I have a pair of Sinoparcel LED bulbs in my Hella H4 housings, more as an experiment than anything else. They seem to be a quality made product, and the placement of the LEDs mimics the light output of typical H4 incandescent filaments, unlike a lot of "drop-in" LED bulbs. The caveat I saw before even ordering these though is that they won't put out enough heat to keep ice and snow buildup off the housings in the winter. I'm pretty certain that whether I like the Sinparcel LEDs or not, I'll be upgrading to a set of JW Speaker LED assemblies as soon as finances permit. If I really don't like the Sinoparcel LEDs, I can easily go back to high wattage H4 bulbs until I go JW Speaker.

Ah, that’s my 60! Although I’m not running those lights that @Racer65 is selling...mine are the 27270c lamps from TruckLite. Not sure if these posted here are knock offs or the real deal, or a different version....I paid around $280 for the pair. Worth every penny though, great lights.

Given the different style headlights on the 60's and 62's .....

Can anyone recommend rectangular LED headlights (are happy with light output, reasonably priced and easy to install ) that work for the 62's ?.
