True. I was jazzed about potentially putting a ARB air compressor in that spot until I realized that's where the battery is.
What am I missing? You pull the cover and use the frame integrated receiver hitch. No easier or harder than the cover and receiver of the 200 Series. Don't like the cover? Leave it off... just like the 200.

I think there will be room for stuff behind the rear cargo panels on both the 250 and 550.
If you’re that easily triggered then maybe a different hobby should be considered. I thought that hybrids didn’t have the 12V battery in the engine bay – if I’m wrong than just correct me without being a giant you know what.
The hitch and cover has already been addressed including with a video.

The GX550 isn't a hybrid.
I don't have my 250 yet so I'm left to web-wonder, but is there still a battery hookup under the hood in the 250 series? Wonder how something like a switchpro would be wired up.

There are jumper terminals if I recall correctly; They'd be suitable for typical electrical equipment, but I would expect they are undersized for something like a winch.

My IceCap 1958 is "in transit" and *should* arrive at the dealer any day. I imagine you'll be swapping those tires soon, but it's not like you're lacking offroad--capable vehicles currently...
Switchpro could be accomodated under the hood. I agree with @Oakleyguy, a winch will need some long runs to the rear battery OR perhaps a second battery mounted under the hood. It would have to be a small battery but there are some spots that could work and battery technology his pretty amazing these days in terms of size and CCA's.
Better yet, who will be the first to tap into the reserve capacity of the massive hybrid battery. That could be a neat option if done correctly/cleanly and I'd love to see the OEM make that possible for lower amp 12/24V accessories like fridges.
