Sorry for your loss Monnie. My wife and I had to make the same decision ourselves for one of our pups. It took a long time to get over and I still sometimes have some sad moments when I think about it.

Sometimes the hardest decisons we have to make are actually the right ones for the overall well being of our pets.

I am sorry for your loss.
I feel your pain and wish your family the best.

I lost my german shepherd last spring. I held like a man until my oldest boy (7) said goodbye. I lost it again when the vet tried to pull her collar off before she was gone. I couldn't muster a voice enough to explain why not to, but she could see and stopped. I pulled it after. It's been hanging by my front door since I got home, and will until this spring.
