Thanks man. I had to choose between the M3 and my old M5 last year. Was a hard choice. Pic was from my for sale thread.

I think you made a good choice. In the long run the E92 M3 should be more reliable.

I never owned one but an E92 M3 is always in my dream garage. I simply cannot get excited by the Fxx series M which substitute noise for symphony of combustion. And I think their resale values and enthusiast sentiment show that now.

Had E92.....great V8, but total package was nothing special.
Wife asked why I purchased a teenager's ***dream?

Almost bought a Lime Rock. Had a few P cars and just couldn't fall in love with them. I'm not for ultimate speed but the total package, including sound.

Maybe I'll go back to Porsche but not unless it's for another GT3.

I had an M4 for exactly three months. It was fun but I felt too disconnected from the road. Even after I unplugged the fake noise amp. Great GT car though. Transfered the car to another guy locally, and got back into 80s era BMWs. No regrets. There's a reason why older German cars are the next automobile pricing bubble.

Man, I have to say that their inclusion of a FAKE NOISE AMP(???)...kills it for me.

That just seems so incredibly hokey. Almost insulting.

If I need fake car noises? I'll take Otis any day:

You guys aren't wrong. But IMO my F10 M5 was an awesome machine and I loved it. Frighteningly fast.

That said, if and when space and budget ever allow, will admit I'd love to have something with a flat six, rear engined, and yes probably of a former (air cooled) era. :)

Understandable. The Fxx M5 is damn awesome. When a car is so refined yet so insanely quick it's an odd experience.

I'd love a 993 Turbo or a 997 GT3RS but that's not in the cards... yet.

I had a couple of BMW Z4's, really nice vehicles. But went back to my favorite vehicle from my college days. I guess I am a Land Cruiser Junky

And I do like things from Australia as well

BMW R1200GS Triple Black.

A 5th gen 4Runner used to be our other vehicle before we had to sell it last year. Will probably pick up another one in the next few months.

I'm too tall for most sports cars, but I've scheduled my mid-life crisis for a few years from now and will be looking at a P car.

I love good engineering, so years ago I developed an obsession with Kubotas. They are not very quick, but moving dirt is great stress therapy.
