Like having miniature Star Wars characters staring at you from the hood. 😁

Thought about testing them but this orange thing parked next to the truck probably didn't need washer fluid all over it....

I’d take either of the white ones all day long before I drove that!
In 20 years of messing around with the fast cars, none of them have ever wowed me as much as this car. I'm a bit of an AMG nerd and the GT is one of my favorites.....this one is a Black Series. Very very limited car...140 in the US, 30 in this color. Flat plane crank 4 liter V8 twin turbo pumping out 720HP. They only use that motor for this car. The suspension is unreal, the aero is all business. The car is next level. Pretty much a full blow race car for the street. I was tasked with picking out the colors, options and taking delivery....21 miles on the clock......customer hasn't even seen it yet :)

Goes well with the Troopy's stripes

Slightly different “aero package” on the Troopy. 😊

Hahahaha.....Aero and Troopy don't go together so well. The least sophisticated part on the AMG GT Black Series is probably light years ahead of anything on the Troopy.

But 40 years from now you won't find any AMG's still beating around the bush of Africa...

Remove the 2 nozzle ones, install the 3 nozzle ones. Simple as can be. I saw it done on an 80.....so it even works on those. Bet it works on a few others too....

Hello ..

had to deal with the hood cover to replace the nozzle ?

Not sure I follow you @Tapage but I didn't have to modify the hood liner/cover to fit the sprayers. I loosened it so I could stuff my arm in there but other than that, no real change. The 90* barb didn't allow me to hook the hose up on the outside of the hood and install...I had to install the sprayer and then stick the hose on. I'm sure there was one right way to insert it with the hose on that would have worked but it really wasn't much effort to do it from the underside.

That was exactly what I mean .. kinda worried about the liner how to remove it and re attached.

Super easy to remove....there are some big clips and if you're easy with them, they will come out without breaking. Need a trim clip removal tool. I didn't break any this time. First time I pulled it for the KC lights, I broke a few. Easy enough to get new ones.

I only removed the bottom ones for the sprayers.

Spent some time organizing things today....getting ready for the 70s event in TN later this month. Trying out some new configurations of gear. I've got WAY too much stuff I think....fortunately it all has a spot.

I moved around a couple of my tie-downs so I could run a couple of Front Runner Wolf Pack boxes with high lids behind the fridge and on the slider so if I have to get into them, I can slide them out and not have to crawl in the truck to get at them. One will be mostly fluids and stuff like that....the other one parts. Thinking spare starter, spare alternator....hub, outer birfield.....I'm sure I can find some more stuff to put in there.

On the other side of the shop, this thing of beauty is coming together. Got to play with my vapor blaster again.....amazing.

The vapor blaster does an amazing job on plastic and rubber. This is from another project.....needed to be run thru 2x. This was after the first pass. I'm playing around with air pressures as it makes a massive difference in polishing.

There's more than a couple non LC parts on this truck......2 little squirters aren't going to hurt :)

Buttoning things up for the trip up to the 70s event in TN next week.....nothing like waiting all year to FINALLY get around to some things I've been meaning to do not at the last minute :)

While the electrical was going on up top, we spent some time under the truck making some skid plates. We had a nice aluminum piece bent up for the front area between the bumper and the front crossmember.....hopefully back tomorrow.

The one for the transfer case was a little more complex. 1/4" plate steel. Kind of let my young tech take this on himself with some guidance. Great practice for him. My transfer sits a little low on this truck....my other 79 isn't quite as low but it's a manual....must be how we built this truck with the automatic.....doing it again, I would maybe lift the body a little so the trans could come up a touch. I don't recall if the transfer was this low with the 1FZFE and trans in it. Not a rock crawler though and our skid plate will do what it's built for.

We'll mount it with some counter sunk screws I think...4 total. The ones in it at this point are to make things easy since this has been in and out 198 times.

Whiskey bent this one so lots of scoring. Took it's toll too.....my beloved 28 year old Bosch 4 1/2" grinder may have ground it's last grind :( Hopefully just a bad switch

The portion to the right is what bolts to the frame using some factory holes.......kind of a 90* bracket that cups the frame on the inside and bottom. Lot's of bends and pieces to this one. This is the top side(faces bottom of truck)

Bottom side that faces the street.

If you plan to use those skid plates remind me to not follow you on the trail. 😊
