Strange passenger seat belt arrangement.....that 3 point harness is not for normal sized people. I might have it set up wrong but I'm pretty sure there aren't a whole lot of other ways it will work...
Where's the lap belt? It's supposed to poke through the seat as well.... And yes it is for small passengers or short journeys. :)

Is this configuration designed for 3 passengers?

Yes, there is usually a second seat belt receiver between the seats and a lap belt for the middle passenger, that's what my 75 series has.

I need to research the belt situation a little bit to figure out what is going on....

Mind attaching a pic of your belts?

1978HJ45......yeah, 3 person seating I believe....60/40 split. Dog will be the middle passenger pretty much all the time.....

This is my configuration. Hard to see in this photo but there are two female connectors between the seats.
Sorry for the poor quality photo.

Perfect....that makes sense and the parts diagram indicates that. Hopefully Penny can get some nice take off ones.....

I dig that ARB key chain....I had one for my 40 series. Had it for 16 years on that key.

Unless you are a Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz or truly desperate for a ride you aren't going to want to sit in the middle anyway. :)
The keychain came with the HJ75 from Australia.

Just curious ...... what is the width of your "bench" seat cushion?
Thanks.... Charles

I'll get you a measurement tomorrow when I see my beloved truck at the shop....

Just the bottom bench cushion measurement is all you need?

Yes ..... Just curious to see how it compares with the older bench seats.
Thanks.....

Here are mine, a little clearer. The second receiver attaches to the floor with the same bolt as the drivers.

..... "A little clearer" .....

Are you making fun of my marginal photographic skills? :D

Not at all, that's a great effort in what looks like a dark garage. I have the advantage of daylight in my time zone. ;)

Thanks 75ute......very clear now. And I clearly won't ever use them. That's a tight front seat for 3 peeps...

Maybe concentrating on a small-ish center console behind the e-brake would be smart. My pup is going to be mad when she can't come sit right next to me while we drive. She can in the 45....

The real piece-de-resistance will be our shifter console....dual cupholders(possibly lighted), seat heater switches, a few other switch spots for future accessories, etc., etc.

Gotta get it on the road though first before we start working on that stuff....

I've found the biggest challenge is where to put some decent speakers as the in dash ones are pretty tinny, I'll be interested to see what you do with this if you're not putting them in the doors.

cup holders

My hunting buddy in Zimbabwe had a neat set up for a cup holder. A two cup holder attached to a bar below the drivers seat. Pop cans were about 6" above the floorboard. Same kind of design in my 96 tacoma but on the dash. Pull the cupholder out and when done, push it back flush with the dash.
You kind of had to reach between your legs to take a drink but sure keeps you from wearing a Coke.
He got it somewhere in South Africa. Anybody seen such a deal anywhere in the states?

My 75 is a bit too bumpy for cup holders unless the drinks have a lid :)

Isn't it always that way???
Our dog always gets the choice seating
;)

1978HJ45.....attached are your seat measurements. Looks 27" at the widest point. not too wide

75ute.....we're going to only run 4.5" speakers in the dash(I think that's what size they are). Double DIN head unit with a really simple screen(must be a matte finish and have a knob control for volume...no stupid tiny little buttons). I'm as far from a stereo guy as it gets so I need very little to be happy. I'm sure my tech has a trick to get some decent sound out of those little dash speakers....

I think I have the cupholders under control...hopefully they'll work where I want to put them. They'll look pretty OEM too....they should I guess, they're OEM.
