Damn, I just figured out that I can't be there for the festivities on Friday night into Saturday morning. That's a bummer, I was really looking forward to the all night beer-a-thon-pig-cookout-sunrise-passout. :D

Man, there's no way around it either 'cause I already have tickets to a concert here and it's one I can't miss.

Sucks. Hopefully you guys will still have your drinkin' hats on come Saturday. Given the show on Friday night, I'll need a little hair o'the dog to get going in P'town. :grinpimp:

Cool, although it looks like my arrival will now be Saturday instead of Friday, :crybaby: - I'll be coming bearing BBQ favors as well...

I plan on doing my best too. It's gonna have to be a big piggy for leftovers. :D
 
Talked with David this morning. Whe have worked out the big details and I will start making a list of things people can bring. As far as I can tell it's going to be a big party. David and I decided to just go with Butts instaed of the whole hog. Whole hog is mainly for show and we will get more bang for our buck with butts. Plus I really think they taste better (remember Tellico?). Looks like we will be cooking over a dozen butts. We will also be throwing some other things on the smokers For fridaynight campers and drinkers. I've decided to forgo the big cooker and use three of my Webber Bullets. Makes things a lot easier on me as there is less tending and more drinking.


Maybe before we start drinking we can talk Capt Jim into a night ride up his driveway.
One main thing I would like to find. Is some fresh Hickory. If you have a good source let me know. Mine is over a year old and the store bought crap, well, is crap. Let me know.
 
Mmmm.... just cooked 150 boston butts with my church men's club. I'm gettin' hawngry! :D
 
I have a hickory source locally but it won't do any good since I can't make the Friday night deal now (damn Dickey Betts) and won't be there until around 12 on Saturday.

This is shaping up to be quite the throwdown.

Let me know what I can bring / how I can help.

If you want to do some venison again, I can bring some with me. Let me know...

Just to add here, we'll be providing beans,slaw and pasta. Smokin' butts on

I'll have the 2 room with screen room tent setup as Camp Butt's Crash Pad.
Capt'n is in Canada for a while. When he returns we'll check on the driveway's conditions. :) :bounce:
Right now....from the posts herein, we stand at about 30....so far.That's a lotta butts.
