Is there a gasket for the distributor shaft?

Hey, I believe my rig is leaking a bit of oil where the distributor goes into the block. It's just metal on metal. Is there no gasket for this part?

Should be an o-ring on the shaft. Are you sure that it's not coming from the tin pushrod gallery cover (commonly called the "side cover") behind the distributor?
 
1970 not sure how much yours differs...make sure it seats all the way down or your oil wont pump....

If it’s not pumping oil it’ll cost you dearly… likely the engine.

Pretty sure. I torqued it to spec and sealed it really well when I installed it. But it's probably worth some further investigation.

How come? You saying it's just bound to leak because it's crummy aftermarket part?
