Thanks HJ!

I'd like to make it on the 19th, but I don't have anything to get me there! I'm going to use my roommates second car starting tomorrow, as the rental is going bye-bye. He was extremely gracious in letting me use it, and I told him it was strictly for work, school and securing another rig.

I looked through the Auto trader, and made several calls. They were all sold or too expensive. A new trader comes out tomorrow and I will be all over right away. Ideally, I'd like an FJ that is street leagal for around $4K +or- 1K. I know its a long shot, but this is what I want.

I work at a CNC shop... So I'm pretty limited in what I *wink* can do right now (personal projects), especially when you consider the 250K price tag on the machinery... That said, because of my accident, I was able to pay off all of my loans and I have absolutely no debt. Not for long I say, can't be a true American with out a little debt. I plan on buying a manual mill and a lathe in the near future. I'll start out making spacers, brackets, Shift knobs, Gage pods, and other odds and ends, with dreams of grandeur in the future. But I have to find a rig first.

Nonoriginal,

I may consider selling my 40. I will make up my mind in the next couple of weeks. If this helps, let me know.

Isn't coming up for the Cruiser Meet in the "securing another rig" area?

Yep, it sure is. He could use the time to take a good look at my 40. Although the price is a little out of his range it would give him a great idea of what he can get if he is patient.

Guys, I'd like to go... Is anyone from Tucson going up that wants to take me? I do not have a car that weekend. My roommate is riding in the Tour De Tucson, and his brother is in town on the 18th - 22nd. If I can hitch a ride, I'm there. GAWD DAMN! its lame not having a rig... :princess: :flipoff2:

Help???? I'm not sure, are you really thinking about selling it? If so, can I afford it? I'd like to see some pic.'s.

BMAN - What’s a little?

Actually the rig's not really for sale per se, but the "I don't need to keep it that bad" number is somewhere just over $10k. Now I don't have that into it which is kinda what I was getting at. I waited over a year and looked at a whole bunch of CRAP before I found my truck. The price was right (couldn't build it for the same money) and so was the timing. Start saving those pennies big time and you may be surprised what falls in your lap. Now that I think about it, I may have a line on a 40 in Tucson that might just be the rig for you. Let me try to track down the guy's number.

Seem to be getting some out of state action here lately. Maybe it's cause we're the baddest assed Cruiser Club in the country. Look out LSLC! Here comes CSC!

My name is Mat. I'm new to landcruisers and I just bought a beater 89 fj-62 with 240,000 miles for $1000. I'm doing a SOA and all that goes along with it. I bought 37" MTR's and hope to get lockers and gears before the end of the year.
I also have a turbocharged Tacoma that runs 12's.

Daytonatiger

Hi,
I'm Tiger and bought my first FJ80 last year. My thought was that I was getting divorced and wanted to be sure I had a vehicle that I could count on in snow. Didn't want to call the ex to rescue me. Well...what a blast!! I love this truck. I actually did have a mishap..hit a guard rail at 50 mph head on during an ice storm...damn it!! I dented my brush guard..and nothing else. I have discovered some cool stuff over the year. I test drove Jeeps and Trailblazers but I bought the best. By the way, just before I hit the guard rail, there was a six car pile up..all Jeeps and all totalled. I got to find out when the kids play with the hose for 45 miinutes and your truck is in the middle that you hear the ocean when you brake...got to find out all about drain tubes....can't wait to run through a river now and drive up mountains !!

So, at what point do you become an "official" memmber of this group? Is there some sort of initiation ritual? Do I need to wear a Cruiser emblem as a pledge pin for a set amount of time? Should I smear my face with 90wt and swing tow straps and fan belts around my head while reciting from my FJ40 chassis manual?

well i am in the air force and just got back from a deployment and the last week or so i have been looking through everything i have missed, it likes like things are coming along. thats awesome. can't wait to get things rolling and start getting more involved.
