my name is dave. I've been in the cruiser "business" for quite a while. Owned at least one continuously for 27 yrs this january. My daily is a 55, with a 60 and 80 in runing reserve and an interesting 40 project on the blocks. Would like to see an LC club do well in AZ.
Glad to see your affiliation with the national club so you can attract a major event and
corporate sponsors. What Sonic do you meet at? Who collects the dues?

Welcome!
We meet at the Sonic on Broadway Rd in Tempe, near the line with Mesa.
No one collects dues as of yet, as we haven't started requiring them. This may or may not
change in the future, though. Bman, or acting prez, is working on a set of bylaws.
Currently, our focus is on promoting fun, family oriented and responsible cameraderie (sp?)
for owners of Toyota 4x4s. So far, that's prooved to be very inexpensive to do. :D
Hope you can come on down to Sonic on the 17th and meet a few of us. Please drive the
55, as we have a smaller number of 'em than other models. :)

Going to drive in from Globe, Dave?

Glad to see that you've stopped on by Dave. I met you briefly a couple months ago as you were leaving the Chicago Burger Joint on Indian School. I was with Jared Pitts. Hope to see you come by the Dec Cruiser Cruise. It's on Friday the 17th at the Sonic on Broadway East of Rural.

Like John said, as of right now we don't collect dues. We have not yet aligned ourselves withe the TLCA either although we plan to in the future. I am currently working on a set of bylaws that will hopefully be a unrestrictive as possible yet keep the integrity of the club at a high level.

so much for my low profile.
I thought I'd show up at the next meeting and throw a few ideas around
from a potential sponsor's viewpoint. I get the feeling you have a very
casual approach to the club, which I like. I've always thought a wheeling
club should be more about the wheeling and less about formalities.

Fire extinguishers, first aid kit, power-tank or outback air CO2 setup, Safari Snorkel, gift certificate for XM satellite radio, set of wrenches for the trail, tuffy console lock box, grab handles, high lift jack, new synthetic winch rope, recovery kit, dual battery setup, rear pull out drawer, Flashlight, Vintage air heater or heater/ac combo, Orion T case, ... the list goes on and on... if any of these ideas grab you search this site for more info ;)

So what, did you just read off your letter to Santa? ;p

Newbie

Hey everyone. My name is Martin, I'm a hair south of Tucson. I own a '72 FJ40, pretty stock except for 2.5" CCOT shackles, GM HEI conversion. Been lurking in your forum for a while, decided to join. Look forward to meeting ya all and perhaps joining a ride or two (family permitting)

Also, how may I officially join Copper State Cruisers? Thanks in advance.

As of right now there is no "OFFICIAL" member status. That will hopefully change soon. If you want in... you're in pretty much. Good to have ya here, don't be afraid to jump right into the forum and soak up all the info you can stand.

Rez Runner - AZ!

Guess there is nothing like using your Cruiser everyday in 4wheel -

I live up on the Navajo Rez (
Pinon, AZ) and 4wheel all the time -

I have an 84 FJ60 that can be viewed at - http://www.geocities.com/jeffreylors/

If you all ever come up - give me a yell- you all have a place on the Rez - one great 4wheel - is Canyon de Chelly. Another is anyplace around me - we see a ton a pottery and ruins up here if anyone is interested.

Oh, the Rez is dry so don't forget to stock up - we did "the run" to Flagstaff today for beer! Oh and if you ever bring beer on the Rez just cover it with a towel or something so if you were to get pulled over - nothing is visible -

Jeff

Hey Jeff, Welcome!

Been to Canyon de Chelly and hiked down and had a great time. Would like to arrange a 4X4 trip down in at some point ;)

Always find ourselves driving up that a way :)

Looked at your site.
Nice FJ60.

Tell me more about the picture at
"Just West of Many Farms near Hole in the Wall"
That looks like a cool place to wheel.

Thanks

Just west of many farts

We call it Many Farts - but anyway - it is north of Canyon de Chelly just before Many Farms - on the west side of the road - you have to run back an old dirt road about 8 miles then off to the south is a huge hole in this wall that makes Window Rock look like chicken s*** - it is really beautiful with huge dunes all over the place - the 4wheelin is okay but is better another thirty minutes up -

Jeff

Nice to hear from you Freightdog- I go to the many parts of the rez quite often. Last year for my birthday we spent a week in Canyon DeChelly and did the canyon with a guide in my then offroading vehicle- An Xterra :D

If you mean it, we'll definitely take you up on your invite from time to time.

I wouldn't say it if I did not mean it!

Come on up - I think the Az Cruiser club is great - when do the t-shirts and stickers come out?

Jeff

The printing presses are warmed up.
We're just waiting on our president to declare the winner in the logo vote.

Cool - count me in - sorry we do not get Phoenix often - love to see all the cruisers at Sonic

Jeff
