I could see that, definitely better than a jack and stands. I need to go measure my new ceiling tomorrow but I think it's a 15 footer so I'm hoping I could stand underneath.

Which brand did you go with? And do you know of a good installer in SLC? I'm looking at Bendpak

15 foot ceiling, you should be good to go. Most overhead lifts need 12' or a bit more.

Mine is an "Atlas" brand, from Greg Smith Equipment. I don't know any installers specifically, since I installed my own.

(Not my pic, found on google.)

Has anyone installed a two post lift in their garage to work on their cruiser? If so, what height ceilings do you have, and which height lift and weight specs did you go with?

@wngrog did the pad and the lift...garage will be down the road...but can answer specs

I have a 2 post challenger 10

The poles are just at 12’ tall. There is an option to make it 4’ shorter.

it has a bar at the top across the top so unless you have a huge pile of over landing junk on your roof rack you can get one in a 12’ ceiling

On another topic, what does everyone think about recent cruiser prices? I've been watching the classifieds and I'll admit it has me wondering if I should list this for like $25K. Not sure what I'd get into next, though I just spent a couple days driving my father in law's Gladiator and I loved it.

Prices have fallen on all neglected stock cruisers. (This clearly doesn’t apply to you)

incredibly well built, documented, turn key, out west. You’ll have no problem getting over $20k.

unfortunately in return you’ll be driving something that I pass a couple hundred a day on the way to work that will require every $ of your sold cruiser to modify (37s all the way) .. and after all that - it’s still a Jeep.

wish it was a Toyota. Other than that I love the utility of the gladiator

love your truck but I get it. I’ve been suppressing the itch myself

You're thinking what I'm thinking. I really should just SAS this but it would be so much easier to get a Gladiator Rubicon, throw a 2" lift and 37s on it and be done.. what do ya do. And yeah I agree, Jeeps are just not built nearly as nice - and the amount of problems people are having on the JT forums is concerning.

The front suspension has just been annoying me a little lately. Strictly in terms of offroad ability I'm jealous of what Rubicons can do stock while it takes 10, 20, maybe even 30K to get something similar in a Toyota (tire size, fenders, articulation.) But obviously it's just one piece of the puzzle and I really love the 100s in just about every category.

I just want a solid axle, mid size pickup truck with a manual. If I could get a 79 series that would be ideal.

I've also been thinking a lot about vehicle weight. I haven't overloaded it yet but it's definitely hefty. A part of me would also love a Tacoma (only 4500 lbs!), throw on pizza cutters (255/85r16) and maybe an aluminum bumper and winch and call it good. No heavy wheels and tires, rear bumpers, drawers, RTTs, kitchen setups, racks, heavy boxes etc. Just throw in a couple duffle bags and go camping.

Sorry for the rant haha

No apologies. My next build will be a whole lotta nothing. I completely agree that weight is one thing I’ll be mindful of next go around.

I’ve had a lifted - zj, tj, xj, and 80 series - hands down solid axle triple locked 80 was perfect. But I’m just not interested in maintaining a 25yr old truck anymore. While there’s nothing wrong with my truck I keep reminding myself that The 100 isn’t exactly a spring chicken.

I’m holding out for the June debut of the Ford Bronco - they’ll be a truck version as well but who can wait 3 years for that?

honestly this has nothing to do with the 100 series and everything to do with guys like us who move from project to project. Next..... 😜

Yeah exactly. Always fun to get a new project

Life is too short to stick with one project. I get the itch all the time. I wouldn't fault you for it even though we all love your LX.

Right? I'd love a 70 series as well.

Just keep collecting. Add to, instead of replace. Remember, he who expires with the most s***, wins.

How do you like the ride/noise of the new tires compared to the STs?

Seriously. Thought about it, you can pick up a manual Gladiator Sport for super cheap right now. Would be a nice addition to the garage and just keep the cruiser vs replacing with a Rubicon.

The ride is almost identical, but they're a little bit noisier. Nothing too annoying for me at least.

I am actually looking into the process of importing an HZJ77 with FR lockers.

Gladiators are having trouble moving off the lots. Wait until the Bronco comes out, FCA will be doing deals out the wazoo to keep up.

Oh sick! LHD? I want to say there's a couple in the classifieds now, though I think the one in CO is a 78. Not HZJ

Yeah, they already are. The Jeep my father in law picked up was like $31K, MSRP $36.5K. I think they might have overproduced a niche vehicle. I'm seeing Rubicons as low as $45K already when last year they were all $55K+. But if I wait then maybe I'll want a Bronco.. hopefully it's cooler than the new Defender huh

@ikarus wait for Trial tailor's SAS kit!

Future-Ms-Mongoose is eyeing the Broncos. I've pledged support. Hopefully it's a different type of owners group than Jeeps though :vomit: 😁

RHD I am not patient enough to look for a LHD. Yep, I have looked at those but want the beefier underpinnings and better engine in my opinion. They are great vehicles but I just couldn't buy a prado know I wanted the Land Cruiser.

Just sit on your cruiser for a couple more years and import a 105 once they’re legal. For what you can sell the 100 for I bet you’d end up with a pretty sweet 105.
