We landed in Sacramento and took an Uber to Valley Hybrids to pick up our trucks. @orangefj45 had is prepped and ready to go. We hit In n Out and then cross countried to the coast at Bodego Bay.

Highway 1 up to Ft Bragg was exceptional.

From Fort Bragg we headed inland on some super curvy 2 lane to the town of Willits where we picked up the 101 for 20 or so miles

The trail turned into dirt as we entered the infamous Humbolt County.

What's amazing is how few people are out in these woods.

The views were amazing. No one is there

We hit the Eel River for a quick break then just like that. WHAM we are in the giant redwoods.

Humbolt Redwood State Park. Pretty amazing driving among these giants

Is that avenue of the giants?

Love seeing these shots from behind the redwood curtain. A different kind of place for sure. The petrolia, Cape Town, ferndale loop is pretty good if it fits in the schedule/plan.

I drove from NC to CA in 2000 and took 1 all the way from the north side of golden gate to Leggett outside of Bragg and continued on to HSU where I met Onur for the first time.

Joined the Eel river 4x4 club on a cleanup weekend and promptly swamped the pathfinder on one of a dozen river crossings. Under the seat is a terrible place for an ECU btw.

Keep em coming and enjoy the trip!

We tacked back west to a short section of road called the Lost Coast Highway.

We filled up in Rio Dell then swung out through some of the most amazing ranch land.

There was no public land so we shot over to Eureka for a hotel and margaritas

The next morning we met up at the Ace hardware to work on the GX. I ate a burrito and supervised

Someone told me you could drive on the beach at Ft Dick so we headed that way with stools through Redwoods and down to the ocean along the way

Turns out the beach is not like Daytona. It's soft. The 80 with no 4wd went down hard
