I bought a 200, but I'm used to driving Tractors. (3 Viewers)

There are threads here on how to use the trucks pump to do a full trans fluid transfer. You pump our about 2L at a time and replace. Repeat until fluid runs red.

Love it…

Someday i hope to be be rich like you, own a 16+ and laugh at all loser 08s with no tint

Its like when you are first class on a flight and get to board first, and then scoff in disgust when the rest of the people board the plane.

Trust me though, my 2018 was the most expensive vehicle I have bought by a healthy margin and I didnt enjoy it, but I found the right car for the right price and decided I needed to jump on it.

wouldn’t know brother

married my sister - never been on a plane

I borrowed (stole) the 200 again.

Took it to Kansas for a field job, took my dad with me. Decided that Colorado was only a few miles away.

Pikes peak, glenwood springs, ouray, now Cortez in western CO, monument valley tomorrow and then hot shot back to Texas.

Last month I did all the fluids. liquimoly brake fluid flush, RAVENOL in the t case, mobil 1 in the diffs, and another 3q exchange in the transmission.

I’ll be doing the next oil change when I get home. 297,000 miles, and I’m loving the liquimoly 5w40 newgen. The engine is dead silent and I like the thick oil in the Texas climate.

Brake fluid before and after, second is the 2nd transmission pan fluid exchange before and after, then the plug swap with Denso 4704. The plugs looked fine, but I did them anyway. It showed me that my spark plug tube seals are leaking. Lots of oil in the plug holes.

Time for valve cover gaskets.

This truck has ruined me. I usually dread this trip in the 60. This one is a joy to drive.

Time to diesel swap the 60 with the 12HT. Logical. Almost a 200. Almost.

If you haven’t read about it already, don’t assume oil in the tubes is coming from the seals at the top. @Taco2Cruiser and maybe someone else has posted about it being the sealant used where the tube is pressed into the head, and repairing that is a different job entirely.

With your odometer reading it may still be worth doing the valve cover gaskets and tube seals, but there’s a decent chance it won’t solve it. I haven’t really decided what I’ll do if mine start leaking..

That’s an interesting idea.

I’ll look into it. I saw a little bit of a drip from the edge of the valve cover, so I’ll do it all anyway.

I’m of the mindset of just let it leak. Some extra oil won’t hurt anything, but a tech going in and disassembling a factory sealed motor is something I’d rather avoid. Unless you know for a fact that they know what they are doing, but those are becoming rarer and rarer nowadays.

I mostly agree, up to the point that the oil can start to affect the coil or rubber tip of it. Depending on the rate of leakage I could see a case for pulling the coil periodically and removing the oil..

And no there are very few people I’d trust to remove the spark plug tubes with the head in-place. To complicate things even more, the tubes aren’t available separately if one is damaged during the job, though I haven’t looked for aftermarket.

Basically there isn’t a great option here other than pony up for and possibly travel to one of the really highly trusted people.

306k today.

Currently towing a friends 80 1200 mile round trip with the addition of a redarc trailer brake and a set of Firestone air bags. It recently spent a month working in the field for work and got dirty daily.

13mpg with the unloaded trailer, 8.5-10 towing the 80. Amazing. It’s easily 12,000 lbs total and faster than my 60.

Recently did a tensioner, idler and belt. Also did another 3 qt pan exchange on the trans.

It needs valve cover gaskets and a RMS badly. Those will be coming up soon. Otherwise, we’re solid.

These trucks are seriously a great value.

Another good time in this truck.

Was supposed to take the 60 to big bend but my buddy got sick. We were gonna make it an old truck trip.

Hopped in the 200 and took the wife and dog instead.

I really need to fix the valley place coolant leak. But it’s still running good. 282,000 miles. We’ve been driving it a ton.

People go to Marfa and wait for this store to open...

2000 miles in 4 days. Didn’t miss a beat.

Gave it a wash today to get the sand off and I’ll start cleaning it up tomorrow.

Not my 80, went to go get it for a friend.

325k miles on it today. Went to 15w50 Mobil 1 because sometimes I get a cold start timing chain tensioner rattle.

I love this truck. It’s towed, been beat and keeps going hard.

It brought home my legacy project 1968 roadrunner a few months ago.

Just on tire rotations and oil changes for a while.

It needs shocks in the rear but the air bags are kinda covering that up. May to a small 1” bilstein or dobinsons lift.
