Post where you end up putting the megnefine filter. I like the idea of this, but want to see it done well first.A few things happened. 4500 miles ago, I got a limp mode that I was certain was the Secondary air injection. Ordered the Hewitt bypass kit gen 2 today.
I got a P2714 today, and it limped again. Comes up as a transmission code. I'm not against putting a transmission in this truck, and it's surprisingly affordable. $3110 with the converter. The valve body alone is $1000 and the converter is $950. So that's an amazing deal. I think I'll just order one.
So I'm going to do another pan fluid exchange and add a magnefine filter on the transmission low side. This should give me some time.
I also ordered a new valley pan coolant gasket from @J2HundyOutfitters just now.
Where are you finding that price for a trans and converter? Have also been dealing with the 2714 as well. Looks like a new trans is in the future for me too.A few things happened. 4500 miles ago, I got a limp mode that I was certain was the Secondary air injection. I would strongly suggest spraying it down weekly til you're ready. They use 5mm hex sockets, and in this instance they had never been moved. I should buy a powerball ticket tonight.
We broke off two 5mm hex bits inside the head, both came out with a magnet and did not strip the bolt. A lot of heat and constant pressure on the bolt with slight bumps caused both bolts to come loose. Very nerve racking.
