I bought a 200, but I'm used to driving Tractors.

When a 250 makes it 360,000 miles and just needs reseals and fluids, lmk.

A few things happened. 4500 miles ago, I got a limp mode that I was certain was the Secondary air injection. Ordered the Hewitt bypass kit gen 2 today.

I got a P2714 today, and it limped again. Comes up as a transmission code. I'm not against putting a transmission in this truck, and it's surprisingly affordable. $3110 with the converter. The valve body alone is $1000 and the converter is $950. So that's an amazing deal. I think I'll just order one.

So I'm going to do another pan fluid exchange and add a magnefine filter on the transmission low side. This should give me some time.

I also ordered a new valley pan coolant gasket from @J2HundyOutfitters just now.

Post where you end up putting the megnefine filter. I like the idea of this, but want to see it done well first.

Fluid didn’t look great. A passive flush is coming up.

Where are you finding that price for a trans and converter? Have also been dealing with the 2714 as well. Looks like a new trans is in the future for me too.

Online pickup from Fred haas Toyota in houston. I wouldn’t want them to deliver it to me.

I passively flushed 21 quarts through it today. Until the fluid looked good.

No metal left at the bottom of the bucket worth mentioning. It seemed to be a little low, so I do the jumper and filled it with my temp gun.

I feel good about it. Let’s see if my code cleared.

The truck went to limp mode again on my way to Amarillo yesterday. I went into sport and it didn’t like that.

Made a command decision.

Valve body and the wiring harness from Toyota.

New filter, SLT and S4 solenoid along with more fluid from rock auto.

I’m only going to try and buy time til I can take the truck down for the full transmission. I can’t get the transmission right away, so I have to do something. Yes it’s money spent in the wrong direction but I can get this all done in a few hours.

Good luck, brother! I'm putting in for a new trans within the next week or two. So far, I can just clear the code and run for a couple of weeks until it pops again.

I would strongly suggest spraying it down weekly til you're ready. They use 5mm hex sockets, and in this instance they had never been moved. I should buy a powerball ticket tonight.

We broke off two 5mm hex bits inside the head, both came out with a magnet and did not strip the bolt. A lot of heat and constant pressure on the bolt with slight bumps caused both bolts to come loose. Very nerve racking.
