Yeah, the rims really aren't split, just the ring on the outside. You have to chain them up good, before setting the bead. Not a good idea to stand over the tire when working on it , either.

Guess I'm one of the few who doesn't like the stock look. 55's are too narrow across in the first place. With a stock suspension and small tire, the original 6" wheels look fine. With a lifted truck, they accentuate the tall, narrow stance of the Pig to where it doesn't look right, IMO. I also think they look out of place on a lifted 40, FWIW. My preference would be 70's to 80's style white spoke rims of 7 or 8 inches in width. Also think the 60 series wheels would look better than the stocks on this truck.

What are you doing with shackles and tundra tires/rims? I thought they looked awesome on your pig.....bet they would look great on mine!
Sorry, they are going on my lx.

I had the truck on 31s for the weekend, and just didn't like the look. I was going to put back on the km2s, but a great deal popped on some BFg at 315/70 17s. I test fit/drove them and fell in love with the ride/ stance. They don't rub and fill out the fender wells nicely. Currently they are on some hideous saw blades. They will soon be replaced with set of fjc wheels, most likey more black steelies. .

Mel,
I am getting closer to getting wheels and tires for my pig. I have read your thread twice but have not figured out how the lip on the Tundra tires was resolved. I like the idea of having 16" tires and newer rims rolling down the road. Any tips on what helped you decide?
