I bought this fj55 in GA. It features a 74 f.5, with a weber, that runs flawlessly. The interior is really clean, with no cracks in the dash or seats. All knobs, buttons and controls are in place and fuctional. It has some rust in the front fenders, but none in the roof or on the frame. First to go were the aftermarket mirrors black grill/ headlight buckets and push bar. Over the weekend I installed a h42/spltcase and started a 60 knuckle swap. Next up will be rust repair, a new set of oem steelies and getting the back window to work.

Looks good! You move faster than me. What color are you thinking.

Thanks! Im going to preserve what is left of the original paint. The hood, doors and rust repaired areas will be finished in primer.

Nice, that was the one in Jesup, right? You should call her Glitzy in keeping with the honey boo boo theme :hillbilly:
Looks like you got a good jump - looking forward to seeing the progress!

Yes, it is the same one. Did you check it out? It's 74 f.5 is one of the smoothest running F series engines I have ever owned. I am so happy with the truck.

no, but I know it was on craigslist for a while. I knew better than to go see it- that's how things end up in my garage...

oh, and if you're still undecided on the pig's name: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUX8S6NUVGc

Never heard of Honey Boo Boo, but you know.. I''m from California so if it ain't covered in brie or avocados... or covered by several laws... we just don't bother... ha!

After looking at that youtube video... I have to say, what a hideous pair. I think your cruiser looks like it's in far better shape!

Nice! Hey, on that H42/split T-case swap, did you add a support (like on the 60 series) or is everything supported from the bellhousing?

Currently, it's just hanging off the bh until I modify a 60 x member to fit. (Gotta find one first). I ended up reusing the 55 rear shaft, which is almost too short. The 60 shaft is just a hair too long. The plan is to have it shortened before putting any serious miles on the rig.

On a side note, the 83 xfer shifter comes up thru the stock transfer hump w/o any mods.

Nice!! Looks like you have a blasting cabinet, it makes everything turn out so much better. Good Job

Couple of great Craigslist scores. An old Quincy Compressor and a skatblast 976.
