New liftgate supports courtesy of cruiseryard finally installed........no longer will I start those 'cold' California mornings swearing and cussing and concussed!

If i remember correctly - the axle was shifted about 1/2 inch after the lift - but I could be wrong - it was definitely noticeable by eye when you stood behind the LC that the axle was shifted right. So just visually corrected for that with the adjustable panhard- when the rear swing out bumper goes this will have to get double checked......

If you have adjustable panhard a, they should be set so the wheels are centered when stuffed, not when parked in your driveway. That way it will have equal clearance/ chance of rubbing the fenders.

Finally got around to installing rear drums and ebc pads. Checked brake pressure with gauge and was spot on!

u joints and rear axle service left to go and no more 'needed' PM.....well....birfs when they start making noise and the rear heater hoses are a weak link I suppose ......

THEN on to the fun stuff after that .......?

So far since buying the the LC 18 months ago we've.....(there was an ulterior motive for creating this list that involves me driving into the back of someone....very minor but damn car body parts are expensive.....big time DOH - more on that in another post sometime soon.....)

My wallet is closed for business!

But those landcruiser heaven interiors look sooooo nice.....

Ended up in a minor front end collision a few weeks back. Both headlight mounts broken, PS parking light, front grill, valance and old OEM bumper shot.....the $$ add up fast....... Settled up with insurance and put the money into fixing up the minor damage and ordered up a TJM T17 front bumper - like the clean look. Wanted the possibility of a winch in the future and for what I use this vehicle for it suits my needs just fine.

First pic top is after the bump. Second is my tear down to investigate damage. Doesn't look like much but both headlight mounts were broken, as was PS parking light, front grill mount was broken. The bumper mounts had compressed and bent into the valance compressing it and moving it up into the headlights - presumably that's what cracked a few of the headlight mounts.

Ended up ordering the Slee rear dual swing out bumper......get both bumpers done and ordered from the same place (Slee)..had to dig into the piggy bank for this one.....

top is after rear hitch removal, bottom is custom fab shop in Santa Ana cutting out the hitch access point.

I like this rear bumper a lot. The difference in build quality between the TJM v Slee is huge. Slee makes good stuff!

Paint job early next year.....my wallet is seriously exhausted........

Just monsterline it and never worry about it again!

Just monsterline it and never worry about it again!

That the plan - going for white. This rig spends most of its adventures in the desert so want to go lighter color for sure!

I love the white. My brother just went with the white monster liner on his 80 since he deflared. Prep is key

time for updates!

New transfer case gear oil 80w90 stuff at 188ishK

New charcoal canniser at 190K

Had to remove bottom strap from oem mount to fit as new one was slightly larger than stock width wise - then use a longer bolt to secure in place

went with the below- works perfect!

New audio installed - great system - also replaced the speakers - given the choice I would rethink the kenwood - too much glare and polarized sunglasses dont work too well with this screen.

front speakers - no mods necessary

rears - cut off the back brackets of OEM and glued these rear speakers into the plastic frame - OEM grills cover just fine

Replaced center console with dometic cdf11 - plan to use as freezer and have a rear pull out fridge when rear shelf system is installed.

This is a great fridge/freezer - ultra quiet and gets to temperature super quick.

Also solves the cup holder conundrum and you get an armrest out of it!

start of rear shelf system - idea is to have a pull out fridge on the left that will remain permanent - then to have another shelf to the right that has the option of being removed.
At the rear of the fridge will be the compressor - building ventilation into the design here - behind this will be the battery setup.

vent holes for compressor - also a channel out the backl - nice thing about this fridge is the abilty to be able to remote mount the compressor if this design doesnt work out.
IMG_6342.JPG

next steps - work on the tops and get the dual battery system in!

More drawer build - picked up two of the intimidator batteries - should provide 40ish hours of use with no charge....hopefully

Paint and electrics next!

Time to jot some progress down......Okay - replaced all PS hoses along with ps pump and gear vane (after chipping the teeth) at 194k following minor to major leak transition!

Idler pulley had siezed up so that got replaced with a nice shiny new thing - also checked the belt tension - all way below spec

Got to work on some tailgate storage!
IMG_6692.JPG
Started threading the cables for the triple battery setup!

IMG_6668.JPG

Now need to figure why my compressor doesn't work - jumped relay and that's fine - looks like i nudge down the control voltage line! Doh!

OK, sorry for my ignorance, but that black thing as a refrigerator?

yeah i think it'll work for my intended purposes - its actually meant for a boat - hoping that in combination with the center console freezer to be rid of the need for a cooler - if not I'll remove it and sell it on!

Working on a checklist prior to a 2000 mile road trip next week!

Rebuilt starter after this was happening....very straightforward thanks to mud...
starter engaging after engine starts

Replaced fuel filter while I was 'in there'. Could only get one of the two bolts back in holding it in place - that bolt at the back - what a !$&!.....round 2 today.....

Rear drawer system with pull out fridge nearing completion!

Nice build! I like the tiny fridge and think i will looking into one. What size is your Yeti? I have the 35 and 75. I'm very impressed with them.

Thanks! The yeti is the largest one you can get - borrowed from a buddy - and simply no comparison with any other cooler out there imo - in terms of quality and price!!!
Along with the center console freezer and pull out fridge at the back am hoping to get rid of the need for a cooler altogether....
Currently have plans for mounting a 200W solar panel on a pull out rack mounted underneath the roof rack that will pull over the windshield on telescopic legs to enable angling toward sunlight..... mulling around my brain anyhow!
