After a dozen plus IAC adjustments truck seems to run pretty well, there may be some fine tuning that can be done?

THANKS Cam and Company!!

What’s it look like past 160*
The same.

I had to stop and take a couple of phone calls and it cooled down while I tended to business, I still have Cam’s and Nolan’s shop bills plus all the beers I owe for all the assistance!

Sweet- all the magic happens past 160*

I waive my beer… I’ll call it a contribution to the “going to need the Hyperspark Ignition” fund. In case your wondering… I used it in mine to replace the DUI distributor. That thing is awesome and the engine is atomic clock steady ..Cam can fill you in. 95* or 2*, it starts instantly

Well not so fast…..after getting the IAC dialed in the truck sat for the weekend and the IAC goes crazy after todays restart.

Thoughts on why it didn’t retain last week’s adjustments?

Did you cycle the ignition after making the changes?

Yes, after each adjustment and there were several.

Really odd to me, it went all the back to the beginning where it was WAY out of whack.

Yep… I saw that … I learned the hard way…don’t F with the IAC until it gets to 161*F. Mine still isn’t text book. But the truck runs SOOOOO nice. Instant starts, immediate throttle response, good mileage, and as steady at idle as Beethovens metronome .

Do you have more than 1 active file on your ssd card?

And a current version of software-

Weird to hear the fuel pump surging with the voltage.

I believe you can probably read it on the hand held BUT…I have no clue how to do it but probably under one of the display headings. For me: I slip it into an ssd card reader on a pc and simply read the contents… I’ll see where I can find that

@desmocruiser check around page 39 of the manual… the hand held has a FILE display icon

No idea what’s going on, but to be fair the IAC was not ever set right (specs are in the manual link) at operating temp or cold. Show us that first before the other rabbit holes

We’re still on the clock and had to go buy more meat

At the end of the last video, this is how we left it:

Take a video of setting it at operating temp so we can see what’s happening. Like as you’re dialing it in

And a pic of the wizard settings and the AFR settings

Admittedly there is plenty I don’t understand about the Sniper system, I am adjusting the throttle plate by turning the IAC screw with t he truck above 160*, multiple adjustments, but it seem to have range of between 10 and 2 O’ clock for the idle to be smooth.

I went through multiple adjustments in the 10-2 range and drove the truck, it runs great for a few miles and then starts running erratically or dies, it will restart and the readings are all over the place.

Let it set for a few minutes and it will restart and run good a few more miles, then it repeats.

I will post up some videos to show the readings when it acts up, I can’t understand how it runs good above 160 and just stops……then restart after a few minutes and back to running good gain.
