Those Trail Worthy wheels are what I would do if I wanted Hummer wheels. At that price it's a no brainer
They are nice. But you need 5 wheels that will run you 290 or so modified and that includes the wheel for a total of $1,460 for the wheels recentered. Or you can run 5 wheels for $200 and the spacers at $750 for a total if $960 and not alter the original construction of the wheel. And be able to resell them later to most chevy, dodge, and ford 8 lug trucks.
But they're 250 each and regular 24 bolt are $40, you'd spend the same amount on spacers and standard rims as you would on these, mess up a wheel on the trail and you're stuck with laying out another $250 rather than $40.

Yeah they come out a tad more expensive but you get a custom wheel built to your specs. With stiffeners and rock rings, I don't see an 80 being able to trash these wheels. If you have a 700hp rock bouncer maybe...

This is probably a stupid question, but do they have to be made out of aluminum? I have no dog in this fight as I like my 17" tires, but the reason these didn't take off last time is because the price is off putting to the frugal 80 crowd.

I wouldn't think twice about spending a decent amount of money on good bead locks. But paying almost just as much just for spacers? I can't justify it.

I got my centers from trail worthy fab, I used regular 12 bolt h1 wheels with the stock run flat I cut down myself. The wheels came with the run flat for 50 each and the ties were 75 each but that was a few years back.

I understand the price 100% but since all 3 of my trucks are toyota 6 lug I just did it myself. As far as a death wobble you can get that on stock h1 wheels. They are terrible and tend to run more true AFTER you recenter them.

I have taken a lot of the initial feed back into consideration as well as the non interest in them due to cost. So without, causing too much drama I am going to withdraw these from the market. If any one wants a set please PM me and I will gladly do a set for you. The cost will be based on the cost of raw aluminium I will only make these when people want them and not offer a group buy. I thank you for your help in realizing that this was not an endeavor the 80 series crowd was ready for. Good luck and God bless!

I read now that yours are 4" thick. That would justify the cost difference as the ones I bought were 2" thick.

It is a good idea, and one that when executed right is great. It looks like you have a very nice product, but you are selling in a niche, of a niche crowd. You can see I had to say all of the exact same things in the initial thread when EMS started. The problem is the 80 crowd seems to be very set in their ways so when new things come along, it is hard for anyone to see the value.

Come on man, no need to get discouraged. You're making a niche product for a niche market. There's bound to be criticism of it and just because some think it's too expensive doesn't mean it not a good product. And remember, the FJ80 isn't the only truck with our bolt pattern. Lots of other forums you can market this to.

That's a pretty sweet adapter, but some googling turned up what would probably be a much cheaper solution. Just assemble the wheels with a 6x5.5 center for $250ish.

I had no idea these tires were selling for $500 a set with a spare! Enough to make me consider 5.29's just to save on tires, lol.

The first time I offered my seat brackets people were telling me that they weren't worth it. 300 sets later I'm still selling them. Don't pull the idea from a few responses on this thread in a couple of days or so. Some peaple can't see the Forrest through the trees. And some ideas need to be 're evaluated and massaged to reach their full potential.

Good luck

I agree with Jose, there are a ton of 6x5.5 out there, no need to pull these off the potential group buy, give it some time to marinate with the thicker skulls!

I think I am in. It will take a while to fully sort out my rig but I like the 37s and it seems like the best way to run them.

So I need the spacer/adapters, 6" lift and 5.29 gears. About $6k+ for parts of I am on the right track.

The pluses are great looks, great capabilities off road, daily driver manners (assuming a high quality lift) and an excuse to grab my wife's butt to help her in the truck whenever we drive it?

Don't need 6" of lift. Don't need 5.29's.

I would still like to see if there would be 20 to get to the $625 price point. I'd like to go 37's one day but still have other things on the list that have to be ahead of going that route.

I sell nothing on ih8mud, but make a few bucks elsewhere. I do respect the opinions here, get ideas and need those things, but this group is not an audience for successful business endeavors.

The niche thing is the key to the catastrophe and you can do well with these elsewhere. The math is simple, they are a win win for people wanting those wheels/ tires and 6 on 5.5" has a much bigger market elsewhere.

Good stuff! Do not get discouraged by this congregation:)
