Hinge rebuild service - maybe???

Before I agree to rebuilding for a list of people, I want to make sure that the process and parts used are going to hold up. Delancy is supposed to let us all know how the initial fit and install is going. I know it will take some time before we know about durability. I just don't want to be the guy with a list of 50 rebuilds that fail in 6 months.

Anyone have a monkey that can open and close doors 24/7 for testing purposes? We could then see how many cycles these bushings that Delancy dug up can handle.

Alot of people have been useing those bushing on 40's and 55's, so I wouldn't worry about them holding up. I used the same on mine, but drilled them to fit the pin. :meh: I'm not sure if mine will be too loose or your's will be too tight. In all honesty, I know they are way better than the plastic, as far as lasting, so we're good to go.

You are offering a quality service, people will be happy with them!

Delancy is supposed to let us all know how the initial fit and install is going.

Delancy is at the mercy of the shop to which he delivered the initial set of these to, as they requested their immediate need to align doors and rockers, to report back.

The bushings are bound to be tougher than the plastic, which many have reported work well on the Pigs, not to mention the amount of these bronze bushings that are installed on 40s.

6 months of no thudDUthud from the doors would be worth something. just sayin;)

I'm still thinking I need to send you a set of front doors uppers and lowers. as you get a feel for things and can decide on a decent number for yourself, let me know what those 4 hinges would be and I'd be inclined to think you'd not get any kind of poor review. I generally don't farm out work I have tools to do the job with BTW, but it's a no-brainer based upon the pics I'm seeing...and great looking work FTR...

Delancy, I think most of us have some sort of monkey that is riding us hard. I would gladly offer my monkey, but he his holding on to my neck with both hands!

Lambcrusher,
What do you think would be a fair price per door?

HAHAHA...don't ask me. I'm cheap and my wife tells me I don't charge enough...so without robbing yourself, you're gunna need to figure out what kind of time each door set takes and what you WANT for that time;). I say that knowing pig people are pennypinchers, but also knowing that quality work should be something a person is rewarded for. I am not rich, and would hope it's something that could be done for about a hundred hundred fifty bux a door, but I don't want to insult your art, and know at this point, you have more than a couple hours into each one, not to mention parts. This is why I say you'll need to get a good feel for what it takes out of you and what that is worth in return for you. door hinges have been an overlooked area by many, and the quality of these appears to be quite high. I would make it something on the list of "things to get" rather than put it on the list of "things to do"...that's worth something all by itself...

I would be happy all day long with $80 per door and throw in the return postage! I have a couple of guinea pigs...haha. Pun intended! Jeffinwashington and Delancy that I have done hinges for. Delancy sent another box, and Jeff hasn't seen his yet. (Ignore the auto spell and punctuate on this ipad. I hate it.). I want to make certain that they are absolutely happy with the results, or I will not do it anymore. I actually enjoy making something worn out look and operate like new again. My day job doesn't allow me to do that very much. So, some of this is therapeutic...maybe I should start paying you guys to do this! Haha. I am offering a money back guarantee to them! If they do not work properly, I promise to take theirs back, remove the paint and the bushings, reinstall the rusty spring, and leave out in the rain to rust, then return them in similar condition to what they were when I received them originally. Sound like a decent guarantee?

sorry Chris...just slop talkin:p

Is there a prescription for that?

I sure as hell feel worn out.

Bahahaha.

let me know as soon as you'll start accepting hinges coming in...;)

Ok, I am sensing the need for this service, is I am going to gather what is needed to be ready. I will order some more bushings and springs, and get my other supplies together. Once everything is in place, I will let you guys know. Turn around times will be around 7-10 days.

Sound Good?
