For a number of years (10?) my oil pressure gauge on my stock '78 FJ40 has indicated high oil pressure. All other gauges are accurate. I have had the truck for 27 years, and it seems that it has read higher-and-higher, as the years have gone by.
My 2F has no better (or worse) oil pressure than most - I think it's 60 psi cold - 40-something hot. But, the dashboard oil pressure gauge reads nearly pegged (see pix) all the time. I have replaced the oil pressure sending unit with several others, and none made any difference. Thoughts? Should I just not worry about it? Add an in-line resistor?
