High clearance 80 series rear bumper (3 Viewers)

There are a lot of threads from the 2004-2007 time period that deserve to be bumped for the entire new crop of 80 series owners.

Kirk is still in Akron and runs a very busy shop. I haven't seen him on MUD in ages. That reminds me, I owe him a phone call.

So you are saying this fresh crop should learn how to search?

I know well how to search... I also noticed he hasn't been on since April 2013... Hence the question, what happened to him?
I might be new here, but not to the internet... That said, there are an awful lot of new guys on here that do need to learn that there is a search before just posting questions. I get real annoyed at part number requests when they are so easy to find.

I'm glad to hear his shop is doing well. I know right where it is in North Canton as I used to work nearby and used to drive/ride a bike through his shop's neighborhood a lot. I miss living in that area only for the fact that if I needed welding, blasting, painting, or anything similar done, I knew right where to go. Now I'm in Michigan and I can't find anything or it is all in the depths of Detroit...I don't have enough armor to drive around some of those neighborhoods.

That comment wasn't directed at you in anyway. I was just playing off Beno's comment. There is a rich 'mud history here with lots of very insightful threads; some even pioneering where and how we use our 80 today.

I love looking at some of the old posts when guys thought they were so badass for making the smallest mods. And I totally get it.
Now there are some much bigger, more complex things going on and it is even better. You can really see how things have progressed...

Very much so! A lot has changed, and I still consider myself a newb.

Who has the sig line "There are no new questions. Only new audiences." I wrote that out and put it on the wall next to my monitor at work...

I wonder if @kirk would sell his bumper? Or a kit. That would be awesome to pick up when I go to visit my folks for Christmas...

CDan has said that many times publically.

I thought it might have been a quote from Him, but I couldn't remember who had it in their sig line.
I'll add CDan as the source on my desk note

Chris Delancy has it in his Sig line after CDan told him specifically in a thread ;)

While there were some amazing 80's advances in the past, it isn't like when those people left they took the knowledge went with them. Guys that have been around the 80 platform since the beginning are still here. CDan, Slee, Powderpig, and many many others. I think they read the threads and many times don't answer just because the same things get asked over and over, but when a rare question comes up, they make sure to let us know who the old guys are ;)

Can I fit 35's on a stock suspension?

lol I have been a member here since the beginning and it cracks me up to see this stuff resurface.

Or of those that were pioneers of the day.

Not as common on the 80 board, simply because there wasn't a forum in '97-'98, but on the distant cousins forums, where guys bought new FJCs or T4Rs, drove them straight home, cut the IFS out, linked, CO'd all corners ala sbechtold or plnfixr....

That's cool to see.
