Day trip up to the Los Padres. We've had a somewhat cool spring so there are still quite a few wildflowers.

I installed a set of Bestop Trailmax II seats in Charcoal. I designed brackets and Send Cut Sended 'em. The are probably overkill on the thickness but fit near perfect. I did have to space them up a bit with washers for the studs to clear the rivets on the tracks. The color matches the gray interior quite nicely. One of them was the wrong color initially, but Summit took care of that. I haven't taken a drive yet, but so far they feel comfy.

Are these the same bolt patter as the vw racaro seats?

That I do not know, but I did take some measurements. The seats are for Jeeps of various years. Please forgive the chicken scratch.
Edit: I had corrected these measurements but never bothered to update my sheet, doh!

Nice work on the seats! They do look good!

Was actually looking into ordering those seats today! Nice brackets! Can I bug you for the SCS file?
Now there’s going to be a run on these seats before I can get them. 😉

When I installed the carpet, I didn't do the greatest job cutting the shifter holes. It probably didn't help that I was using a carpet kit for a LHD cruiser with an auto on a RHd cruiser with a stick...

Anyway, to cover up the ugly hole, I made a finish piece out of a recycled tire floor mat. There was also plenty of leftover mat, which I stuffed under the front carpet in the footwells.

Hopefully it will settle into the shape of the transmission tunnel eventually...

Drove the cruiser to work today instead of the Yaris to pickup an old gas range to use for parts to fix mine.

...and then got rear ended on the way home. The bumper bent and barely kissed the body. Good thing I hadn't replaced the already cracked taillight lens. I don't think the Yaris would have faired so well. The other guy cracked his radiator and had to get a tow...

Anyway, I got all four burners working again!

Oh man it's bad... Looks like I'm going to have to trailer it back out to flagstaff to have @kelly saad strip the whole thing back to bare metal and start over...

Pay no mind to the pile of rotten termite wood...

A little fine tuning...

And voila!

The bumper did actually put a little notch in the sheetmetal when I got rear ended, so I'll need to a little filler work before paint touch up. All in all not bad though!

On a side note, Tree of Heaven is horrible. I've been slowly killing those stumps for 2 years...

Oh nooooo

...So I've made the seat brackets available using the Send Cut Send Marketplace. I guess this means I need to become a vendor here on Mud?...
I recently used his brackets, and it made the install super clean and easy! Super stoked for the new seats!

This weekend I worked on insulating the roof. I started with some rigid R7.5 foam, cut to fit snugly. Next was 1/4" plywood, which, despite measuring twice and having generous holes and fender washers, required some additional 'fitting'. The plywood was then wrapped in some freshly ironed felt sheet, adhered using some 3M Super 77 CA spray adhesive. The spray glue was nice to work with and seems to be strong stuff.

While my wife and I can actually carry on a conversation while cruising on the freeway, the noise level could be better. I added some boom mat spray to the wheel wells (6 total cans for 3 coats in each) and it cut the edge off. I found some more rust while I was in there, and promptly ground it out and welded it up. Gah!
