cjltlc: God bless your wife bud.

Hey everybody, just dropping a line. Happy Turkey Day to everyone. James, hope your family has a good day today.

If I am home on MLK weekend, I'll be there. Will know in a few weeks and if I can make it I got a large trailer mounted BBQ smoker I could bring. I saw where someone else mentioned this as well so maybe we could plan on getting people fed at this too.

Hey everyone - Trollhole and I are taking a trip tomorrow to meet JamesR and give the 40 a good lookover. After tomorrow we should have a good idea of what parts we need for everyone who has offered their parts stashes for the build.

Thanks to those who have made donations!

Awesome! Do you mind mailing them to me at

thanks!

sorry been out of town for a while.... I will for sure mail them... just want you to know they are not exact bolt on replacements... I mean the look the same, but the bottom where you bolt the other ones on there is not the same, you will have to fab up a spacer or somthing... I would do this but I dont have a stock set up to work off of. Is this ok?

That will work just fine - thanks!

A little update:

Trollhole and I visited with JamesR yesterday and have a bit list of parts needed and things to do. I'll get these posted up ASAP.

Thanks again to everyone!

Yeah there is no way the F motor he has in there is going to work. It's got a huge knock and is blowing a lot of smoke.

James and his son are going to work on having the engine removed by MLK.

Seats

Steve, were you able to contact the guy in G'boro with the seats? if not, I will (just don't want to step onto anything). I will be going through G'Boro a couple of times in the next week so now would be a good time.

Sorry David but I have not. I would love it if you could give him a ring - thanks!

Also, I have a long list of parts needed that I'll get typed up this week and posted.

THE BIGGEST THING I NEED RIGHT NOW IS A VOLUNTEER TO CONTACT POTENTIAL SPONSORS AND VENDORS ABOUT DONATING PARTS - CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS?

Marshall - talked to JamesR and we are good to go.

I'm also working with some local media - could use a hand there to organize stories in local papes, etc.

I also have a more indepth write-up about Joshua that I'll get to Lenny to post on the website also with pics.

Thanks everyone!

I will send these soon... sorry.. I put them by the door in the shop and walk by them every day and keep forgetting to bring them to the office with me

I have an engine, trans, and transfer out of a '70 if you are interested.
Been sitting since I pulled it out. I only took the plug wires and top cover of the transfer case off of it.
It's yours if you want it. Let me know.
David

More good news!

ACC Toyota called and the donor 2F has strong compression. It does have some minor oil leaks and we are going to replace the side cover, oil pan, and rear main seals during the build. Those will be relatively easy. The harder part will be replacing the front cover and front main, but we'll get her done.

A big thanks to ACC Toyota for their help with this!

Also, I swear I'll get to it soon and post up our needed parts...hopefully tonight.

I really need someone, and you don't have to be local, to contact vendors and see if anyone would be interested in donating any parts. Please PM me if you are interested. I REALLY need help with this part as I am swamped with my company and the other parts of the MLK build. HELP!!!

I'll have to check my filler neck collection, I might have an older model one. Not too sure, though. Let me know if you need a gas tank. I've got an older style one sitting around....
