you should put together a list of parts that are needed, then if people have them laying around we can get them together for you. someone is going to need to see the vehicle in person to make this determination

As far as I know right now, I am in. I am not much help on the mechanical stuff, but can take things apart like a champ. I am also good with rust removal and painting (the can kind, but I think I can probably learn a new trade and run a paint gun). I won't be able to stay for the nights, but could maybe do 2 days. Oh, and I am in for $50.

EDIT: Oh, and I am not that far from Athens. I might be able to do a scouting trip with someone that knows a lot more than me.

Awesome Heather! Thanks for the time and the donation!!!

I'm working on some more specific breakdowns of tasks, teams, etc and hope to have that up in a week or less. I also hope to have a scheduled scouting trip in the next month or so.

Thanks!!!

place to pull axels to rebuild? are they in need?
has anyone done a recon?

I'm hoping to have a scouting day within a month or so to nail down what exactly the 40 needs. Also working on all the other info and will let you know ASAP.

Thanks!

Count ACC in. We should be able to be there for at least a day. Let us know if you need us to bring anything special.

What's the latest on T-Shirts?

Design is in the works. We might have something together by the end of the week.

Thanks for the offer! I think we have a new carb courtesy of Trollhole's Cruisers coming. I'll check...

I'm also going to start updating my first post with all the real important info.

:hhmm::hhmm::hhmm:New carb and dizzy is a great start. To get one running for someone and leave it with them: a new clutch master and slave, new radiator, new belts and hoses, all new brake parts (with possible front disc conversion and/or axle but then a boo$ter will be needed), new brake master cyl, prolly 5 new tires (Hancook Dynapro ATs are a great inexpensive all around starter tire), new battery, all new fluids and filters, a bunch of fuses, spare wire and splice kit with shrink wrap, any needed lights/lenses, new wiper blades, new fuel pump, new water pump and thermostat, new spark plugs and wires, spare donated starter and spare donated alternator, prolly bring a rear main seal just in case. Bring along a 75 year old mechanic with a timing light, a tach/dwell meter, and some feeler guages for the valves and points. :hhmm::hhmm::hhmm:

Oh yeah - we have quite a list that we need to do but I think three days of wrenching will get it done!

Hope to see you there!

Oh, I also talked to JamesR last night at length. He is very thankful for the outflow of support from the Cruiser community. He has a two car carport which we can use to wrench in, and Upstate Cruisers also has a very large canopy I plan on setting up the Friday before MLK weekend. Scatter around some other canopies, tables and chairs and we should have plenty of room to work and get'r done!

I'm not 75 but sometimes I feel like I'm the only 20 something mechanic that knows how to use any of those things. I can tune the carb as well if need be.

You guys need a documenter/photographer and someone to make a book to keep with the 40 for the boy, when he's older he will appreciate seeing the effort that you guys are putting in and maybe while he grows up others will find comfort in your work.

You need a paypal site up and PM me when you have it!

Best of luck with this project.
