You guys are amazing.

Thanks! How can we get it to the build?

I'll drive over on Thursday night. I can help out with the build on Friday until mid-afternoon, but I need to be home Friday night.

Have you found someone to get the parts from Cirbo yet? If not, I can probably get with him this week some time.

John

No one has contacted me about meeting up with Cirbo. Can you PM him?

If you turn south on 441 towards Athens, there is a wal mart on the left just a little down the road. that seems like a logical place for everyone to meet. However I would call the Commerce, GA Wal Mart manager and run it by him/her. just tryin to be helpful.

Wal-mart sounds loke a good plan. I'll contact them and let yall know.

Time is getting close!

If anyone has tools you don't mind bringing please do - wrenches, drill bits, anything... Shop supplies including rags, grease, fluids, spray paint, etc...

We do need a good drill, also some grinders, air hoses, air compressors, lights would help too.

I also need someone to meet up with Cirbo near Charlotte to pick up a set of wheels, steering column and front shock mount. Please PM me or him if you can do this.

Thanks!

I live in Fort Mill and know where he lives. I'll get on it.

And another update. A soldier that Josh served with will be at the event. That will be nice.

Thanks ROCKS!

ok, I PMed him.

I'm on it.

Somebody tell me, will stock bumpers from 3/'79 work?

We are talking about Bumperetts Yes the bolt pattern should be the same :wrench:

You can have the front bumper in the this thread.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/sale-parts/321872-fj40-parts-sale.html

Its straight, has only surface rust, but a few extra holes where a SOR brush gaurd was mounted on top. If you put those holes down, they would be less noticeable.

One more question for the stock bumper will you need the trangle brackets ??? Please post up the link to the pictures again maybe I can zoom in and see if there there if not I might be able to fine them here.

I have bumperettes! Strike them off the wish list. I have stock front bumper on my '79 if we need ze bumper as well. Steve, please clarify if we need all.:bang:
OK, so my '79-40 has been in storage for two+ years now. Started restoration and divorce at the same time. Divorce won. Point is, I have lots of stuff off the truck which will make it easy for me to grab, ie: bumperettes, front bumper etc.. Would like to keep the drivetrain and frame, but hell, I can replace a lot of stuff later when I get back to the restoration on it. So for now, If something is needed that will benefit us on a '72, :wrench::wrench::wrench: .

Dang jibber - Thanks!

I have rear bumperettes in the garage that have been donated.

The front bumper is supposed to be coming from Cirbo and will probably be picked up by boombapslappy.

Marshall - didn't we need the stock rear bumper to replace the Godzilla rear bumper that is currently on the 40?

I have 4 HF 6 ton jack stands and floor jack and a parts washer if needed.

Please bring those John.

Also, landcrusher909 has the triangle bumper mounts.

Thanks to Georg ( orange45 ) I will try to get down and find some bolts before I leave But the suit case if starting to get alittle heavy LOL I still need enough room for my Parka

Hey guys - we need a 40 at the event to use as a template for installation of a MetalTech cage. We will tack the cage into place in the template 40 then transfer it to the build 40, check for fit, and then burn in the welds.

The template 40 needs to be able to pull its top off (hard or soft) and cage out.

Please PM me if you can bring your 40 for this. I don't want to be grinding and tacking a cage together while we are dropping in a motor at the same time.

Thanks!!!!!
