Hi, my name is Billy. I live in Athens, not far from the Reeves. Unfortunately I am going out of town Friday afternoon and returning late Sunday. I was planning on coming by Monday morning to help where I can. Now, to the point. I have tools, portable compressor(28 gallon I think), engine hoist, heaters, and some spare parts off a donor truck I purchased that I am willing to donate/lend to the build. I would be happy to meet someone on friday at the warehouse and if need be decide what I have that may be useful and run to the house and get it. I have a stock rear bumper but the PO cut the ears off both taillight housings. I do however have the shock mount you need it just needs to be cut off the frame. If anyone will be around Friday AM let me know the address to the warehouse.

New sponsor!!!

We have a new sponsor!!!

Overland Journal (Vehicle-Dependent Expedition Magazine: Overland Journal) is an AWESOME magazine. I am a subscriber and just renewed for two additional years.

Overland Journal is sending a pack of goods for the event. I can't thank them enough!

Please check out their website if you don't know about them and subscribe if you want an awesome mag.

Thanks Overland Journal!

Now this is cool.

Radar Multi-Media will be attending and filming a documentary of the build. Pat Smith is the field producer for Larry Dsonka's "North to Alaska" which airs on the Versus network. He is also the field producer, lead camera and finish editor for "Your Southern Garden" that airs on GPTV and Florida Public Television.

This is an awesome gift and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Pat!!!

Awesome! I was going to suggest getting a hold of POWER BLOCK from Spike TV - but it's probably much too short notice. Hopefully if they still have dvd players in 16 years his son will be able to have the documentary and the truck!

That's the plan!

Radar Multi-Media and Pat Smith are donating everything. It will be awesome to be able to show the DVD on one of those little portable DVD players at the various events and memorials the family wants to take the 40 to. We could probably even use the DVD to gather support for future events.

I can in no way help physically with the project but would love to help financially, where can I send some funds to help offset some of the costs for needed parts?

Here's the plan for Saturday the 16th...

I know some will be there building early, but the official ride into town for the build will begin at 12pm at the intersection of I-85 and Hwy. 441. This is exit 149. Any Land Cruisers that show up at this time will be led to the build site by the Patriot Guard Riders. Also, there will be media in and around this ride as well as at the build site for most of the weekend. We need to make this ride a statement. Please try to meet at this exit no later than 11am as we do not know how many will be with us. The more there are, the longer it will take to get lined up.

I have asked the Ride Coordinator from the PGR for any specific landmarks for a good meeting place, but I know it will be close to the interstate to make for an easy lineup for all. I'll update asap. Please try to make it to the ride. I, and several others will be at the build site on Friday night but will leave and meet up for this ride.

If you turn south on 441 towards Athens, there is a wal mart on the left just a little down the road. that seems like a logical place for everyone to meet. However I would call the Commerce, GA Wal Mart manager and run it by him/her. just tryin to be helpful.

that is a HUGE exit, better be specific where to meet.

Also, I am confused as to what is needed, sorry, the dayquil/flu is kicking my head..an updated list of what parts are needed and what tools are needed would be helpful

Bob - check the second post in this thread. I keep it updated. Look about half way down the post under "Parts we need."

Shop supplies/tools we need are listed there too but the most important tools and supplies we need are tables, jack stands, floor jacks, HEATERS, and any hand and/or air tools you want to bring. If you bring tools though please have them clearly marked as belonging to you so we can make sure everyone gets their stuff back.

Thanks!

Just donated a little money I know will go towards a good use would love to see pic of this young mans family posted with the cruiser when you all are working on it. Good luck you all with your generosity!!

Hello All,
Today I printed and read the entire thread. (I've been keeping up with it; this is the first time I've read it without interruption.) So far it's about 130 pages. Reading this phenominal outpouring of support is, well, amazing, truely amazing. People donating their time, resourses, and compassion for a family they have never met, and may not meet, leaves me in awe. I hope this story is shared from the east to the west. People need to read, see, hear about, the unselfishness of everyone involved. Josh was not the only soldier killed in Iraq; his story is not the "sadest". I, of course, want my son's sacrafice to be remembered. I want Jackson, his son, to learn about his father. Jared, Sherri, Joni, and Michael, (Josh's silbings) will always remember him. Leslie, his widow, will do the same. To read this thread, to see folks that live in various parts of this country ralley to offer support is what America is all about. I love my country, my family, and my Heavenly Father. I am grateful for the way each of you have blessed my life, the life of my family, and the memory of my son. Thank you, thank you, thank you. May God bless each of you and your families. I am excited to meet ya'll next weekend.
