Ah, yes! Forgot to mention that the MUDDER I partnered with happened to have that input shaft laying around and threw it into the bargain, along with a bearing retainer! Not sure about all these things yet, i.e. I need to start doing some research. So stoked.

8/80 to 9/85 H41 and 10/82-9/85 H55F were the same. 10/85-? were the same. From what I understand you need to switch input shaft from transmissions in the same year range. Not sure about the B H55F but the F/H H55F has two oil channels on the 1085+. If I'm wrong sure someone will correct me. I do know 10/85 the part numbers changed on input shafts. If the input shaft teeth you get matches the teeth on you H55F you should be good.

DoubleNickels this is a pain in the butt job. You need some crazy long extension pullers to do the job. I had to buy them off the Snap On truck because I couldn't find them anywhere else. I think the pullers were $589. Fortunately for me, I broke the puller and they warrantied it with a new one so I was able to return it. You'll need synchros and a bunch of other little stuff. It was more work than I'd ever want to go through again. Especially since about a year and a half later the main shaft broke. Get the h55f manual, without it you'll be lost.

Thanks Eric. I've heard the same from both @Owyhee Jackass and @ridefastflyfar . There are some new MUDDERS in the Boise area, maybe worth asking around.

.... @RMP&O , is this something you've acquired in your LC specialization?

Yes, we should have a BBQ in the park next month and get together and find out who has what and who needs what and check out everyone's rigs.

Word.

I just got done organizing my 20-year high school reunion. I.e. I'm waaaay burned out on any sort of event planning, even if it's just a BBQ. Give me a few weeks to rebound, and/or feel free to take the lead. I'll post something on our Club Page.
