Ether and a match works to reseat a tire bead like nothing else.
I didn't just crawl out from under a rock 😜
So will just about any other flammable liquid, but that's not what we're talking about here.

Ratchet down a cargo strap around the circumference of the center of the tire tread nice and tight and I’m pretty sure mine and the Puma both would set a bead by itself without the tiny tank. It would take a large air tank to do that on a 37 or 39 without the compressor kicking on.

Thanks
Again I know all of this 😎I got my first 4x4 in 1975 I know I’m dating my self 😂

I luv the redirect...
I'm finally out of the wheel spacers, again.
Found a great deal on a set of Method 105s with same back space & offset as the Battleborn beadlocks I had.
Shed 11 lbs per corner. 45 lbs vs 34 lbs.
39s & new wheels together are 117.6 lbs.
my old 37s & Battleborns were 118 lbs.

I put the spare in the back, rig squatted about .5" now need to bring up the rear a bit more.
A little Bulldogish...

Ive been wanting to do this for years. Possible merging cars next to me might not see my turn signal from the side.
Splicing or jumping the green signal wire to the divorced white marker wire worked for me.
I installed incandescent amber bulbs since I have clear Lx450 lens.
This thread from 2006 help me greatly (VERY) Simple mod for blinking side markers

January 29th 2020 I posted my hard brake line slide over mod but never posted it here on mud, so here it is now five years later.
This mod it to prevent the swaybar from ripping out the brake line if ever the swaybar mount welds fail from the axle housing.

Replaced stock cargo hooks with full D-rings. This is a direct bolt up one  job.

Wait...am I reading this right? You added your corner as a blinker, because the front lower light was the blinker? Is that an LX450 thing? Because on my 94 the corners are blinkers and the lights in the valence are just running lights.

Is mine weird/messed up? Yet another rabbit hole to chase.

OEM design for all US spec 80 series the outboard lights are not turn signals. The turn signals are in the valance. Several years ago converting light sockets in the outboard lights to a dual filament bulb so they could be wired for a second set of turn signals was a popular modification.

Weird that mine is the opposite. I have no idea why. Of course no telling what a previous owner did. 😅

I would assume the PO did the turn signal mod.

I don't know why I post every detail, but I did a few more unsignifacant mods before Turf-N-Surf.
None of this qualifies for high tech redneck one banana job
Installed the 39" spare, it barely fits.
Installed clear blinker covers that I've had since 2020.
Added more bolts at battery post for winch. Cut more off my motly bumper. Mounted highlift & shovel. Straiten up cargo area. Purchased 2 group 35 AGM batteries to make room for winch control pod, should of got the Odyssey brand, maybe next time.

I made a post about T-N-S 2025.
Here it is.
Post in thread 'Turf N Surf 2025!!!' Turf N Surf 2025!!! - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/turf-n-surf-2025.1361120/post-16125367

Broski pointed out I need more thread count than 8 turns for lug nuts:
Thread 'Check your nuts: aftermarket wheels and minimum lug nut thread engagement.' Check your nuts: aftermarket wheels and minimum lug nut thread engagement. - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/check-your-nuts-aftermarket-wheels-and-minimum-lug-nut-thread-engagement.1345968/

Now I will post about my self inflicted cooling failure next.

Neglected PMs will eventually come back to bite...

Back in 2022 in post #931 I did a quick & dirty JB weld repair on my pin hole internal corrosion coolant leak on the oil cooler.. Purchased a used one from @slow95z then never installed it.

Life raced on & I forgot about it untill the Lx overheated pulling the trailer to Pismo. Long story short, Temps got to 227° made it over the hill. Things cooled to about 215° then steam came from the hood then it got to 245° the last time I looked before pulling over to a safe spot. I decided to have it towed to the camp spot in Oceano. This was a week before TNS, after a day of trying to find a shop to fit me in, retrieving the part at home the Lx was back in service in 3 days by Wednesday. I got fortunate the head didn't warp or blow a gasket.
We did the TNS weekend then towed the trailer back without issue. Max temp only reached 212° going up Questa.

Here is a sneak peak of what is next for the Nugget.
Some folks build it then post, I like to post as I go.
I like the dialoge and responces from the community.

I can say I've seen hundreds of different 80 series bumpers, but I like the one off pure DIY jobs the best.
The Trail Gear winch plate & the FJ80 bumper that I have has surved its purpose but I never have been satisfied with the cosmetics.
With a winch plate that was purchased about 5 years back, my DIY bumper begins.
My 1st thought is to make it modular in design starting with a winch cradle that will allow bolt on bumper wings. The idea is to maybe make a few styles before settling with the final design.
Tube or plate wings???
I like the gull wing type the best like the OG 4xlabs.
1st I will do the best with what bumper wings I currently have for now.

I mounted the winch several different ways... turned backwards to feed over the top then thought about mounting it like a Warn 8724 then decide to mount it normaly due to I was able to get it the furthest back with ease of access to the T handle. I estimate it's now about 7" closer to the front cross member then previous & completly under the grill. The fairlead will mount about 1" further out from the frame rail ends.

I love my Bump it Offroad bumper. It was cheap, lighter than most, and gets the job done, plus protects my dryer.
Mike was easy to work with.

That being said, I always prefer plate style bumpers over tube, and original 4x4Labs has always been my favorite 80 series bumper. I think because it was on the first 80 I fell in love with so that design just stuck with me. But on most vehicles I've never liked tube style bumpers. But here I have one on my 80 now. 😅

The Engo really seems like the perfect winch for this though, your mounting is way better tucked in than mine I believe. But that winch is way more compact than mine as well. Now I understand why they used to be highly recommended for the 80.

I believe it is 6" tal & 6" deep.
I don't know what others are, never cared to measure.
As for company made bumpers, they have to make it roomy for all the different style winchs out there.
So this now brings me to look at this...if I ever go to another winch, I would be bummed if others didn't fit. 🤔

Later edit... a quick & dirty research shows if I leave room for 7.5" height & depth most 12K winches will fit. I could also tilt forward the winch to make more room later.

Very few fit my bumper.
As long as its fits a major brand your good to go 😉
