Hey gents of STLCA! Will it be difficult to obtain a trail pass that Wednesday or Thursday morning?

Not at all the office there is open 7 days a week, and you can get the permit there or the general store at the trail head.

23April Data.jpg
Based on See Who's Coming as of this morning,
(5) FJ Cruisers are registered
(7) 4Runners are registered
(3) Toyota Pickups (of all body styles) are registered
Are these normal numbers considering how many of these vehicles are out there? If these are low, are there other forums or media that have a broader draw to owners of these vehicles? The Toyota Jamboree is two weeks and their registration shows 73 FJ Cruisers / 37 4Runners / 37 Toyota Pickups / 12 Land Cruisers. This just seems to imply that GSMTR reistration is not drawing from these vehicle types like it should.

One truck from Alabama and three from South Carolina also seem very low. Could be that those chapters typically register at the end, but I don't have the data. The SC guys have cabins reserved and are listed full occupancy so they intend to be joining us.

Are there other avenues that need to checked now? Thanks. See you guys in a few more weeks.

For planning, I have my hotel booked so I will be arriving Sunday afternoon (the 11th) and heading out the following Sunday morning. So I will be available to stuff driver packets and man the check-in as needed through out the week.

One thing to consider is that the Toyota Trail Rides that run the event are a Toco/FJ Cruiser club.
The park is moderate and since they moved the date of the event they are making some of the LA and Tx folks choose which event they attend and Gilmer is closer.
That aside not sure why we don' t attract more FJ Cruisers

Rick, Steve and a handful of others excluded, we don't have enough expensive widgets and shiny bobbles for them.

As far as other forums, toyota-4runner.or is a big one for the 4runners, Ttora is another big one for the taco guys, yota tech is pretty big in the early pickups and 4runner crowd. Not sure if anyoNE else knows of more but those are the ones I am registered on.

Also, I need to call and double check but I think we may have a small cabin reserved that we won't need if anyone is interested. I think it is just thurs-sun. Will verify and get back to y'all.

Online GSMTR registration will close May 4th, so we can get registration packages prepared.

Registration will be available at the event but will not include a T-shirt, shirts will be for sale at the event while supplies last.

You go up the paved road to the Windrock Park campground and keep going to the end of the road, there is a fenced event area with a pavilion. Camping is in this area and registration is in the pavilion.

The other thing that is not helping is the Eastcoast FJ Cruisers are holding what they are mistakenly calling the larges Toyota gathering in the east at Rausch Creek the same weekend.

I'm on the borderline....truck not back to my home...and running around on tires...and mods... we will see...I don't like having to jump out of my @$$ at the last second...but looks like delay on some work on the LC may force that. We'll see how it shacks out. Got the new tires and they will just have to run on some FJ cruiser wheels I have for now...until I can get some custom wheels. The cruiser wheels are 7.5 wide which I don't like...new tires are 35's. I got the tires mounted today (did that myself on buddy's old school tire machine)..glad I don't have to do that for a living.

If the (LC) thing blows up and I see no way to have it drivable/safe by ride time....I may just drive up in the car and hang out one day or two. I planned it differently...but life and circumstances got in the way, like they sometimes do. Not over yet but I would rather have some time to check for problems locally before I find them 5hours north of me on the trail.

Should be more SC guys than that. I'm not registered because I'm a sponsor. Might want to throw the sponsors names in that are coming. I do know some SC guys backed out at the last moment.

So what does the T-shirt look like this year?
