You don’t want to miss the 23rd annual Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride May 12-17, 2014.
The event will be at Windrock Park which has over 300 miles of trails, so we can return to the all day trail rides of the past, at Windrock you can come for 6 days and ride new trails every day whether you are a stock beginner or a hard core buggy. This area is not Tellico but has dense forests and beautiful mountain views everyone should enjoy. We will be providing guided trail rides and for the more adventurous the park has excellent maps and the trails are well marked. For more park information: www.windrockpark.com
This year we have added an Expedition Run, Tuesday through Thursday with one day of riding through the park and two days in the North Cumberland Wild life management Area, a 250,000 acre area managed by the state and two nights of primitive camping. This ride is limited to 12 trucks, so sign up soon.
The included cook out will be Thursday evening and the Catered meal and Raffle will be Friday evening.
For more information and to register go to: www.stlca.org/gsmtr

Quick question:
Dinner and raffle is on Friday night this year, correct?

However the online ordering offers buying additional meal tickets for Saturday night.

Roger is there somewhere I can get more info. on the expedition ride?

thanks!
I have asked Howard to include this in the event index:
This year we will be offering a 3 day Expedition Run with 2 nights of camping on the trail. The ride will include trails on Windrock OHV area and The TWRA North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (formally known as Royal Blue WMA). The group will be limited to 12 vehicles, you must sign up when you register, you will be responsible for the Windrock and TWRA daily use fees, the Windrock fees can be paid at the park and the trail leader will assist you with the TWRA fees. We will provide a trail leader (Todd Shirley) and a tail gunner.
Camping along the trail will be primitive, no water, no porta johns and all the firewood you can gather. You are responsible for bringing your own camping and cooking gear, food and water. The trails will include some gravel roads, some rocks and small ledges and plenty of mud. Many of the trails, especially those on TWRA land are not maintained and are not heavily used, so expect dense foliage which will pinstripe your vehicles paint and as with any adventure into the woods there is always a chance of body damage, our trail leader will provide assistance when you need guidance but remember you are responsible for your vehicle.
You will ride for 2 days on the TWRA WMA, there fees are $12.50/day for Tennessee residents and 30.50/day for non residents. The fee can be paid on a smart phone before you enter the area.

Vehicle Requirements
33 inch tires minimum, 35’s are better
One locked, 2 is better
No Trailers
Roof top tents not recommended, they will take a beating from low hanging trees, if you bring one, bring a chainsaw.
A full tank of fuel, if your truck will not run 3 days on your tank bring extra fuel..

Yes there is a 12 truck limit, and that is really a bigger group than we like.
You sign up for the expo run when you register for GSMTR.
