Got a call from Fastenal this afternoon saying that both my shipments had arrived. So I will be making a run next week to pick up my pallets. I'm glad too as I got out today and was going to tool around in the snow. It was already slipping and showing signs of being in the way out, well after the run down the drive and back and it struggling to build and hold pressure, when we got back to the house it was pretty evident from the aroma of burnt something that the trans is pretty much toast. So now I really need to get a spot cleared out and get this party started.

I picked up some new lights for the front-end. I know @TeddyBoy was concerned about my well-being after mentioning getting rid of the light bar, but I think these are going to be sufficiently obnoxious.

Pulled the bar off and test fit them tonight, mainly because I couldn't stand not knowing how they would sit. I will get a better picture in the daylight this weekend.

Erin's exact words "oh, those are super obnoxious, but I like them"

Finally made it by Fastenal today to pick up my packages. The crate and pallet were all the 10' utility trailer wanted and I really wish I could have gotten more weight on the tongue but I made it home, slowly and carefully, but made it home.

Official uncrating will take place tomorrow. If it wasn't set and nasty and I didn't want to chance getting my new stuff wet, I'd be out there right now.

that should help ya get over dem rocks. Say, I think those would work perty well out In Moab!! There's room on the trailer....

Yeah, you can't get much more blaten in the attempt to copy the ARB version without a proper logo sticker.

I did get the crate and the axle unloaded yesterday and i did take pictures, unfortunately i will have to wait and take new pictures as a slight mishap while doing some grading with the tractor resulted in the need for a replacement phone.

Zook looks lonely.....Is the wife bored with it yet?

Nah, she's not bored but the sami has been mostly just used for putting around the farm these days. I have a new clutch, knuckle kit and several other misc things to throw at it, but like most things, it is in a poorly formed line with no real time line established. Hoping to get the line straightened up and moving soon.

@cruiseroutfit random, but a heads up, I'm going to try to give a call tomorrow to discuss the brake booster, lines, and to discuss clutch master and slave options for the H42 swap.

wait, I saw this pic a couple days ago but didn't bother to read the post until now. You're saying this is the remains of a tractor vs cell phone fight? Nice!

so whats the story?

Yep, tractor bucket vs. Phone to be exact. Not much to tell really other than it should not have been where it was to begin with. I stuck it in a pocket on the fender. I honestly dont know how many times it may have actually been run over. I only noticed it as pieces of it started emerging from under the bucket as i was back-dragging some gravel in the drive. It literally peeled off in layers. The real story is that i apparently had a bit of a black-out moment as it was only later that night when Erin was telling me that i apparently had a true Christmas Story moment only I never became aware of the string of obsinities that were coming from my mouth. She basically told me that from her vantage point she saw me stand up, heard some unreasonably loud explitives emerge and then sees me leaning over looking at the ground and started running to see what had happened. I had no idea that i had said anything at all, in my mind the swearing was internal. Apparently not, apparently it was VERY loud....

Anyway, i gathered up the pieces, put them on the porch rail and went on about my business. I was super pissed but decided i needed to finish and I couldnt do much about it now. I called Verizon, they said i had to make a claim against the insurance, suck that. I called the guy at the dealer I've worked with and he told me that after a rebate i could basically get the new model the next afternoon for pretty much the same as my deductible so now i am the proud owner of a new LG V20... I paid some healthy stupid tax on this one and the only thing i really learned is that i need to figure out how to use the cloud as the only thing i really lost of any value was the 10 minute recording of my little girls 1st grade Christmas program.... Amazing how our sense of value changes as we get older. The money hurt, but the realization of the lost memory is where the real pain kicked in.

Woo, sorry that got lengthy

Well I actually still have an operational phone at the end of the day, so here is the magic box that came from Cali.

Trans and case with all shifters and linkages, Surfaced flywheel, bell housing, shift fork, misc hardware, a pair of terrain tamer rotors and pads, and a little Valley Hybrids and Cruiser Brothers swag.

I pulled the pickup out of the barn today so I can start shifting things around and getting the walls built out and clearing some floor space so I can get this party started.

I am hoping to get this thing going in a few weeks, but I am working on getting the barn finished out so I have some floor space to actually get this underway.

Thanks for reading,

Stay tuned.

@Bama4door has recently done this swap on his 62, he could prob shed some light on the project as it unfolds... Good luck Matthew!

Yeah, I pretty well put the blame for this on Cole. :D Helping him rebuild his split case and chatting with him about his 62 is what resparked my interest in doing the swap.

I have most of the needed parts, just need a good spot to leave the truck parked while doing the swap. Getting the barn finished out has always been the plan, this project is just the catalyst I needed to get my butt in gear and get on with it.

I will fully take the blame Matthew :D

Puttered around the back 40 today, bad trans and all. Man I love me an 80.

Thinking we about to go Expo with this rig. Move up to a little more lift, 35s, Prinsu rack to allow for RTT installation and whatever else blows my way.
