Love the drawer and removable face for customization. My center console purchase is on hold until this is available!

Mark:

I like what I see--a lot. I don't much care about mounting switches on the center console. I made one like that for our 40, and those switches seem to accumulate a lot more dirt than other switches--and I can't imagine that helps with their longevity. (thank goodness I installed MIL-S-3950 switches)

But I LOVE the main compartment/rear drawer idea. Is the main compartment deep enough to hold a bottle of Power Service diesel conditioner stored upright? (anyone who has spilled a drop of the stuff knows why I'm asking)

Curious- if someone takes a screwdriver or allen and removes the switch panel to open it up, does it allow access to the main compartment? if so all it would take is a screw driver or allen to break into this thing. maybe fasteners on the inside may be a better solution? not criticizing just hoping to be constructive here

looks awesome. I would want one in brown with a tan arm rest to go in the 60. is the front plate alreay cut out for switches?

Cool product, are these designed to fit a specific series of cruiser? I thought I read a post about working on mounting brackets. Are you planning on making a variety of brackets to suit different series? Please tell me you are making one to fit an 80.

Cheers to cruiser innovation!!!

Good point.. the area of the console that is behind the switch panel is separated from the rest of the console. Even if a person were to remove the switch panel, they could not get into the rest of the console, or get the draw open. We are looking into using security screws and supplying a security screw bit, but for now it's just allen head screws.

One thing that no one mentions with all these consoles is how they are mounted to the truck. At least on the FJ40's It's usually a bracket that utilizes the rear seat bolts, and the front OEM console mounting screws. So unless your going to spot tack the screws down with your welder, someone could just take the whole console!

Currently, I designed this with the FJ40 in mind, and it could be used in the 60/62 too. I have had several folks ask me about the FJ80, and once I get this console in production, I will focus on a 80 version.

For now - just black, sorry...

yes - you will receive two switch plates, one is blank for you to customize, the other has switch cut outs already.

very nice! I'll add this to my list of things I should buy.

Mikey likey!! It works for both 40's and 60's!

Drooling... Does the drawer go either way, forward or back?
Another detail question, what is the extra plate inside the top lid, next to the strut? Is it like a big clip holder for papers and such?
Best console out there, I'm sure!

I completely agree with all of the positive comments. I was planning on designing my own and making it out of wood. It would not have had the security of this one but my ideas are really close. Very well done. It will be perfect in my 60! Just don't tell my wife I am buying something else for it.

This is just what I am after. The Tuffy is on my list, but I'd rather have the drawers and additional storage in this one. The switch panel is cool too, no need to drill into the dash or make a custom one for the radio pocket! Nice work!

Do you have any pics of the combo lock? I really like it, the only complaint I would have is the locking mechanism. I would prefer the tuffy style but your's is still way better than the CCOT version which is crap. Your version is smaller and has a slot that it goes in so it won't bend and slip out like the CCOT. The CCOT version I could just give it a little yank one handed and it was open.

Any plans to sell the drink holders as a separate item? I love the concept but it won't fit between my Caddy CTS seats and rear sleeping platform. (I have 7.5" between seats.) I'd love to incorporate the drink holder into my own plywood console.
