Riderjgs,

I figured going to the Pig Party I could drive to your house without refilling @ 1000 miles, without towing a trailer. That's filling this honker...60 gals. and yes it hangs below the frame a tad.

$500 to $1,500 is a HUGE price jump.
The aluminum option looks like a nice tank. We don't make the steel tanks from Long Range Automotive, just import, stock, sell, service and support 'em as North American distributors.

Happy to help when it is appropriate! Cracks me up that @scrapdaddy managed to get almost 58 gallons in there :)

This is who we are....you might recognize the guy in the video - @orangefj45

I’m not in any need of a gas tank. Sounds like a cool mod down the road. I could stomach forking out ~$500 to get an aluminum unit built to fit flush with the bottom of the frame. $500 for a skid plate just seems overblown (but of course I do my own fab work of that type). Anyone else needs a gas tank skid plate made, I’ll do it for $450.

i'm keeping my eye out for a bolt in tank for my 73..i wont take it off road so i may just have the OEM tank referb as i do like fitting the 33'' spare under..this truck doesn't need more gas IMO it feels like it lasts longer than the 80 series as well on my trip to Maine i had no complaints

Mike. 49 Tire in Richland MS just installed one of those long range tanks mentioned above in an FJ60. I looked it over and it is an impressive piece.
Chris Tolleson and the crew at 49 Tire and Automotive are awesome.

The shop is an authorized dealer for Long Range Automotive tanks and they can get you any LRA tank made to suit the need of everything from a 40 Series to a 200 or Tundra, with FJ Cruisers, Tacomas and Lexus GX as well.

@orangefj45 and I (the Cruiser Brothers) are proud to know and do business with Chris and his team.

Worth a drive if you want it done right - not just tires, but general mechanical work as well, with a fine appreciation for the needs of the offroad community.
