Front Crank seal keeps pushing out?

I bet mine does that too.

@FZJ80 in KC just replaced his this weekend due to a similar wobble. I had not heard of these "breaking" or needing replaced; however, come to find out that it is a standard after market part. I figured this would be dealer only. Rock auto sells this harmonic balancer which tells me that these must need replaced by more than a few people.

Yep, I bought the $85 crank pulley (harmonic balancer) from Rock Auto, and no more wobble. The new seal I put in about 2 years ago (OEM) was toast, due to the wobble, so replaced that as well ($14 from local Toyota dealer with our club discount). Definitely check the 30mm bolt to make sure it is tight and was torqued well, but that pulley can go bad for sure. We tend to pull the radiator so we can fit a harbor freight earthquake gun (100 PSI) to remove that large nut, and to zap it back on. No need for strapping/bracing and starter bump method or anything difficult or scary on at least 5 or 6 rigs we've done.

Just watched your video. That's not much wobble compared to what I had. Looks pretty normal to me actually.

Looking from above, mine was pretty pronounced, and easily noticeable to the eye.

I'd be cleaning all of those surfaces with some brake cleaner and really trying to nail down where the leak is coming from first. Just my $.02

Thanks @FZJ80 in KC , it didn't seem too bad but I have no idea what is within "normal" range. Took it back to the shop today and they said it was fine and there can be some slight wobble....

The leak is coming from 2 places. My oil pump cover and the distributor...So far. I am seeing some drops accumulate on the PS pump but it looks like it's from above. Perhaps the Dist. The "tech" said he would smear silicon on the oil pump cover to fix that leak...Not sure about his reasoning. Those tiny drop in the drive way make me crazy. Maybe I'll do a new HB with a new seal when I do the oil pump cover. Money goes great with money.

Good job on tracking down the leaks. If it's the dizzy (distributor) shaft then a simple O ring will do ya. But, pulling the dizzy and then back in can be a cause of a major heart ache when the engine won't start! Just being one tooth off makes the engine no go!

The oil pump cover is also straight forward so overall not too bad of a project. But, do read up on the FAQ on oil pump cover re-seal and have on hand the necessary hardware.

Reach out to another cruiserhead for a hand and guidance. See if there's a club in your area listed in the "clubhouse" section of Mud. Since you're a newbie, having another cruiserhead will make things more comfortable for ya!

Good luck.

I did find a little oil IN the dizzy cap. I'll dig around the forums for that one. I have found some great folks already on the LCLC club and my buddy has a 40 but they are different beasts.

It's quite insane the difference in craftsmanship when you give a shiFt. I suppose, that is where this forum stemmed from. I wonder if there is a Pontiac Aztec forum like this? Crap, I just googled it : http://www.aztekfanclub.com/
Gross, nevermind, now THAT is insane.
