An FYI for the Jensen Heavy Duty Unit....

I have it wired to the battery (yeah it has an inline fuse) and it has not drain the battery until yesterday.

The unit has a weather band that apparently comes on by itself whenever there is a weather alert.
Well, we been having weather alert for flash floods close to the San Gabriel Mountains and guess what the damn radio came on.. that's cool....
What is not cool is that right after the weather alert is finished... the radio tunes on to radio/Sirius mode and plays all this cool tunes until the battery dies...
and now yah know....
and knowing is half the battle !!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Frank, you're sh!tting me ! But mine did not stay on ... Maybe it's because I don't have sirius ? I suppose it could be possible I didn't the the alerts this far East of the SGs (mid-SFV) ?

No my weather radio went off about 4:00 yesterday with a flash flood waring when I was in Reseda.

The instructions on mine SPECIFICALLY say to only wire it to a switched source. Sounds like you all are wiring it to a constant 12v source?

back from helms deep ....
Im still rocking this radio... but I no longer use Sirius.. Havent used it in a couple of years..
Im listening to Pandora for free, but this unit does not have bluetooth.
The newer units do, but these are $280+.
Not going to happen.

Instead I found this and was wondering if anybody has used one of them...
My radio unit has the two female audio jacks.. and the module would have to be wired to an ignition hot wire.
Marine Bluetooth Module

Im tired of running that little wire between by cell and the radio... bluetooth radio would be a good upgrade..

BTW, there are other modules outthere, but this one has the best review by far and unlike the others it does not get hot.

Thanks for making me aware of the Fusion units... their basic stereos look like they might be a good option for an open top 40 for sure...

Please keep us up to date...

There are two models of this module.
The Ms-bt-100 pictured above and the Ms-bt 200.

I read the Ms-bt 200 will only work with the fusion head units and uses another type of connection with the radio giving your cell more control over the radio head unit.

The amazon reviews tell the msbt100 will work with any radio that has the audio jacks....

Amazon reviews

We'll see...

Aight... I got the module today.
This afternoon I pulled the head unit out of the tuffy, plugged-in the two audio jacks on the back, and ghetto wired the module...

When I paired my cell to the unit/module I got a confirmation beep.

Crisp & clear sound played on the speakers... plenty loud and no static.
In short it does what it says w/o any problems.
I'll do all proper wiring later this week.

The only thing that I don't like is that I have to pair my cell every time I turn the rig on, but I was aware of this.
It does not take calls either which is a feature I do not want...

No more wires...!!!

I think that pairing every time and no incoming calls kills it for me. A single wire to AUX isn't too bad, but I do hate that spaghetti of wires now between the dash and console...

I read this entire thread, and it's funny how so much was said about ipod control and cables, and USB.

In the course of this thread, SEVERAL versions of this Jensen radio have come out, and now, along comes..

BLUETOOTH.

Nearly every radio out there now, has bluetooth wireless phone connectivity, and streaming audio from your iPhone or Android music library, AND bluetooth streaming of Pandora Radio (yes, I pay $5/month for Pandora ONE.. it's worth it!)

Here's a link to the latest Bluetooth JENSEN...

Once it pairs, shouldn't it automatically connect when you enter the car? Most bluetooth devices do this.
In fact, I can be talking on my iPhone, and as I enter my car and start the engine, my phone call will automatically switch over to the cars speakers. Will this not happen with this Bluetooth Jensen? I don't plan on using the Sirius, and will probably install this in a Tuffy console.

Anybody here have this bluetooth Jensen working as a hands-free telephone? But if I have to pair it every time I enter the vehicle, that's a deal breaker. I find it hard to believe, tho.

I can't imagine you would need to pair each time....

From the Manual:

"NOTE: If a Bluetooth device is disconnected due to the power being turned off or if the device is disconnected inadvertently, the unit will automatically search for the matching BT mobile phone when the power is restored."

I think a call to Jensen will answer your question.

Yup.. the product review on Amazon seems to confirm this. And, there's a big green phone icon button to answer phone calls.
It sounds like it performs exactly like the factory bluetooth OEM hands-free radio in the 2015 Prius we just bought. I might
have to look at this...

BTW.. Crutchfield has this for sale at $299.
