???? Why are you guys paying so much for these stereos? Am I missing something here or is it just because it has a more "retro" styling to it?
Because, seriously, my old JVC unit that has Bluetooth and USB ports with Pandora control was all of $60 on sale. Even the newest version is only $75 through crutchfield?

An open question to all the people who have this: how visible is this screen in broad day light? I'm thinking about getting this and the biggest problem I've had with JVC and Kenwood in the past is now being able to see it in direct sunlight.

Is this better? If so, I'll buy it.

I've got a $60 jvc in the Tacoma that does everything that I need and also a Kenwood that's like $250 in the cruiser both wash out on a sunny day.

Tint would fix this issue but I really like it being fishbowl like.

@gregnash : yes, the styling
@HemiAlex : bright enough to see anytime in my FJ60

Calling all fj62 guys with this Jensen HD head unit......for the love of gaawwwwd, how the hell did you mount this thing in the fj62 stereo brackets?? There's no screw holes to access.

The old Pioneer I had in there bolted right up just like the factory double din radio.

Please let me know if there's some creative solution that I'm missing. :bang::bang::bang:

Crutchfield might have an install kit. Metra makes them for LOTS of vehicles.

Yup, thanks. Just flustered because the previous aftermarket head unit took about 2 minutes to mount.

Think I have it figured out....thanks to my very intelligent 16 y.o. son who pointed out a mounting option that was hiding in plain sight. Duh dad!
Just need to find some extra strap material to reach the screw holes on the Jensen unit. Should work.

The faceplate on the Jensen HD is pretty bulky. Will require some careful dremel work on the backside of the dash panel and the bezel of the cubby hole pocket mounted below the head unit.

Again.....any fj62 guys that have mounted this unit I'm open to any other tricks.

@Skniper How did your Jensen HD install in your 62 go all these years ago?

I'm in the same boat, with a JHD1635BT that strangely seems wider than standard single din size. Did you end up breaking out the dremel to make it all come together? I'd hate to cut up a perfectly good dash and/or a perfectly good radio, and this wouldn't be my first time missing an obvious solution...

From this thread it looks like it drops right into the single din 60.

Thanks.
