Jensen Heavy Duty Stereo

h522JHD1510-f_gree.jpg

Built specifically for rough conditions, the Jensen Heavy Duty JHD1510 receiver can stand up to tough work and road conditions, handling vibration, temperature fluctuations, and humidity with ease. The front panel's protective covering keeps out the dust and grime you encounter when taking on dirty jobs. And if you're a trucker who takes your stereo out of the rig when you're off the job, the JHD1510 has a built-in memory that'll store all your presets and other settings for 30 days.

The receiver sports an AM, FM, and Weather Band radio with automatic NOAA weather alerts, plus Radio Broadcast Data Service (RBDS) for traffic condition alerts where available. With an optional adapter, you can plug your iPod® into the JHD1510 and access your playlists with the receiver's front-panel controls. Front and rear auxiliary inputs let you plug in other audio sources.

The dot matrix LCD display is easy to read in all lighting conditions. You can select from amber or green for the backlighting — it even changes the button color to match your choice.

Looks like it would match perfectly, not to new/tuner looking. Green lights match, water resistant, ipod hookup etc. So now the tech question--- It lists the DIN size as E and crutchfield claims it wont fit the fj60. Tried to look up the difference in the din codes and didnt see any. Does anybody know the differences?
Its standard DIN opening so i assume its possible to get in. Ill be the guinea pig. Im going to order it from crutchfield because they will take it back even if if fawk it up. :)

Looks interesting. I might even pull my stock radio out to install that one if it fits. It looks old enough I don't think anyone would steal it.

I like the Clarion I have in my 62 :D

got an install pick on that clarion unit spook? my head unit just went out, so I need another. I have a single din now, but could go with double

I'll snap one in the morning when I get home from work. I freakin love it. Got the navigation package with it too. And it's got a PIN # protected anti-theft feature, so whenever it's disconnected from power you have to punch in the number on the 10-key feature before it'll work again. So if anyone steals it, they just got a double DIN paperweight :flipoff2:

You had to roll up in here and ruin our party by showing off your TV you finagled into your dash, didn't you? AND you use a picture of Bono?!? How dare you.:flipoff2::flipoff2:

ProwlerDriver, that's a sick deck. That'll work well in the 60, for sure.

Wonder what the longevity of that unit really is..

C'mon now. Don't hate the player, hate the game :D

This thing is awesome though. I can watch DVDs (or iPod video with the right cable) if I'm sitting in my truck waiting for something, have full control over my iPod when it's plugged in, and the sound quality is way better than that of the Kenwood I was using before (which was by no means poor).

And with it open to load/unload a disc:

Whoa! I am sure you have a lengthy writeup on it somewhere, but what's the story behind your custom transfercase switch? Mine is manual, but I'd just like to know...

Sweet deck, if my stereo were not to my liking, I'd totally go for that.

best thing to use a Jensen for is a paper wieght, you can fit whatever you want in the 60, you just need to rig some brackets, i have a sony, don't know the DIN class

I like it. Totally different from but similar in creativity to my kill "EJECT" button EDIC replacement.

I also bypassed the starter glow system with a push button glow system, so to be replaced with a 2nd OEM rear window defrost switch running my glow. Getting tired of holding in that button for 20 seconds. Like I said I have a transfercase from my 60, with the 2-lo mod.

Spook, did you have to do any surgery to get that stereo into the hole? Crutchfield says it won't fit, but my fj62 already has a double din aftermarket installed, so the only reason it wouldn't fit is if it were too deep. It's also been discontinued, but I'll bet they have something similar.
