i'm going to be checking out a 62 and if it looks clean i'm trading my motorcycle for it. Need a second car for a while during the isuzu swap.

It's clean and low mileage (172K) but has some rust issues mainly the tailgate.

Any of you guys have a spare tailgate laying around...i don't care what color as i can paint it any given color (it's a woody so i'll need a decal to match...or a swing out tire carrier/gas can carrier :) )

and my engine/tranny will all start to be pulled as soon as i pick it up.

so if you need

2F webber carb, po stated it was short blocked at 100K, it has 256 K now and it's a very reliable DD for me. 6-1 header. new thermostat, new alt. leaky ps pump, have new rear oil seal in the box, gets 13-14mpg. runs great. It is desmogged.


the h42 tranny is a clean shifting tranny. Came from a rusty rig up north with less than 85K. Has 5K on it since i got it. Took it off roading this past weekend and 4L and 4H worked well on some trails/hills.

have the flywheel/clutch/pp assy off of the low mileage rusty rig.

Will part out engine if i cant get it sold whole

If there is rust on the tailgate you better climb all over it because that is not the only place with rust. My old 62 was ate up with rust and I think that was one of the main reasons it took awhile to sell it.

Also those decals for woody are unobtanium, might find something close though. How much are you asking for your bike? Just curious as so many 60/62 have dropped in price and I know how hard it was to sell one, especially once modified and rusty.
 
i'm asking 4500...would probably take 4000.

i just got pics from him and it has too much body rust. The rear 1/4's are shot, the upper back glass is rusted around the seal. The tail gate is so rusted you could put you fist through it.

The frame appears to have surface rust but i'm not driving to chattanooga to find out.

IMO it's not worth 2,000...i got my 60...rust free other than a few spots along rain gutter for less than 4 a year ago and i follow plenty on craigslist just out of curiosity that sell for less than 5 that are rust free. Rust free and well modded for less than 7.

I'll keep it for now and see what else is out there. I've only had it posted for a few hours. His was an add i stumbled upon. I can rent a car for less than 15 bucks a day if i need a second vehicle while i'm doing the swap.

too bad the baby seat doesn't fit on the back of sport bikes
 
FJ40 For Sale, No Title, Greenville SC

ShermanFJ62 is up in Upstate this week on business and found this FJ40 for sale near Greenville...asked me to post it in case someone was interested or knew about it...

Looks like $1900 asking price, NO TITLE and some cancer in rear....just sharing the find in case someone wants a project.

so long as you have no shortage of cash that rig is loaded with potential! But for broke people like me the only 40 i can afford is at the convience store.
 
It is a hunk of crap and needs to remain there until he gives it away. No title? So basically you have a parts cruiser.

It's been in the same spot for 4 years. Offer him 500 and you might have good deal.
 
Miele Appliances (NEW)

Anyone planning a kitchen remodel anytime soon?

I used to sell high-end applainces and design kitchens, and I bought some really trick Miele cooking stuff before I left. These were leftover year models that I got at cost plus an employee discount direct from Miele in NJ. I will sell at a really reduced price to get them out of my garage and help fund a vacation.

I can get pics, model #'s etc to anyone serious as they are a little buried at the moment.

Basically I have:
A premium 70cm black single wall oven Miele Stainless Steel Electric Convection Oven - eBay (item 280504142058 end time Sep-05-10 14:21:41 PDT) (like this only black)
Matching 70cm black warming drawer
a nice SS 34" (or maybe 36") wall chimney hood

I also have a nice matching 70cm steam oven that I want to keep, but if someone wanted to pay what I paid for it, I would let it go with the package. They sell new for $2000 and I think I paid $750 for it.

Also, if the chimney hood isn't what you are looking for, I have really trick 30" liner made by Vent-a-Hood that allows you to run a decorative hood out of wood, tile, stone, etc.

I know where a nice SM420 tranny is with only 65,000 light duty miles on it for $100 in NC. Let me know if anyone is interested and I can give you his contact info.

ordered H55...good there

need a pre 4/85 fj60 or other H42 clutch release arm...these early ones are longer than my 86 model.


If you have an extra i want it! If your eventually wanting to go to a H55 with your stock 2f or 2h and you need a newer style i'll trade with you as i have 2 newer style (have to also switch to a 3f bell housing when going to H55, i have one of those too :) )
