Selling my Hyundai (not my Hundy)

I have finally accepted that my Sonata is too uncomfortable for Danise to ride in with its sport suspension and sport seats. I like it and it's a great car but I need to have something more comfortable for her to ride in because of her spinal injuries from a car accident a few years ago. So, I'm buying a 2008 Lexus ES 350. Anybody interested in a 2011 Sonata SE in fantastic condition? It only has 31k miles on it. See picture below. Being a little anal about my vehicle maintenance, you know it has been well taken care of. I bought it new 2 1/2 years ago for $23k. It still has some of the factory warranty remaining that is transferable. I think it's 5y/60k. The 10y/100k warranty does not transfer. Price: $16,500.

Replacement

This is what the Sonata is being replaced with. Don't worry, the Obama*Biden bumper sticker has already been removed.

Marc - Sorry to hear that the Sonata is not great for your wife, but that will be a great car for somebody. The Lexus looks nice - how many miles on that?

It's a 2008 with 32k miles. Got it for less than $20K. I bought it from the original owner who was in his 70's. It's been in Santa Fe its whole life. It was his wife's car until she had to go into assisted living. I'm guessing she only drove it to church and the grocery store. It was serviced every 5k miles at Lexus of Santa Fe. Seems almost brand new. Now if I can just get rid of the vibrating steering wheel at 65 with the new tires I'll be happy. It's got some pretty serious options like headlights that turn L/R when the car turns, headlights also adjust up and down according to the amount of weight in the vehicle, rain sensing wipers, backup camera, parking assist sensors in the bumpers, motorized sunshade for the rear window that hides in the rear deck, tire pressure monitoring system, navigation ....

Genie Intellicode Remotes

A few years ago I replaced my garage door opener. I have three Genie garage door remotes I don't need. If you can use any of them let me know. They are one button remotes. I know two work for sure, and I have no reason to believe the third won't work.

No charge.

Thinking about selling my 80 with blown head gasket. I have no idea what it's worth as-is versus repaired. I would like to fix it first, but knowing how little free time I have, it may take longer than I'll be around.

For anyone that might be interested, it is a white '96 with 217k, diff locks, OME heavy, new 265s, decent interior, little damage to the tailgate.

thoughts on value as-is v. repaired?

Two years ago I paid 4 grand for a running locked 94 with about 230 K on the clock. If a guy has to pay someone to do a head gasket it is at least 2 grand and probably more. I'm not sure how that translates directly to your situation. Personally I would not pay more than 2 grand tops for one that is not running, but that's just me.

Any interest locally for an 85 FJ-60? Roughly 250k on body, 40k on V8 swap.

Vortec 5.7 4L60E split case, front and rear ARB bumpers, ome springs, 255/85r16 bighorns. Lokar shifter, real Toyota mirrors. Mechanically sound, will be due for some PM soon (brakes, birf leaks)

Needs cosmetics, interior rough, seats ripped, windshield broken. AC hooked up and worked good until compressor went out (will need new compressor and system flush, already r134a) Paint scratched and peeling from crappy respray, not rusty though. I bought this truck out of Deming in 08.

I have a lot of parts to go with this truck, 4.10 diffs from a 62, extra seats, nice front and rear carpet, front axle rebuild set, yakima bars with bike trays, glass, door seals, and probably lots more.

$8500 as is, send a pm for contact info.

I need to get into a fullsize diesel 4x4, would entertain trading for a 12V nv4500 cummins. I'll also consider a part trade for an early builder 40.

1985 fj60 transfer case?

Hey~
Does anyone have a good (rebuild-able) transfer case they want to part with? My case is good, but my output shaft is toast along with one of the gears.

thanks.

Thanks- PM sent.
From what I can tell the fj62 t-case is a bit different from the fj60. I basically need the output shaft and gears. Anyone know if those would work in the 60 case?

An early FJ-60 uses a 34mm split case, but a later FJ-60 and the FJ-62 use the 38mm split case. I don't think that the gears on the output shaft are interchangeable, since they mesh with the idler shaft gears--and the idler shaft is the difference between the two types of split cases.

That said, you can bolt a 38mm split case in place of a 34 no sweat. And, then you'd have a 38mm split case (which is superior, IMHO).

You would likely want to swap the vacuum 4WD actuator off of the 62 case though, and put the manual shift from the FJ-60 onto the other split case, but that's no biggie. Or, you could add vacuum shift 4WD to your truck, you'd just have to source a switch, and the VSVs (not hard to find).

Dan

Thanks Dan~
I have the 34mm case. I knew about the vacuum difference, and it sounds like an interesting project to try. I already bought the rebuild kit for my 60 t-case... cruiseryard.com has the switch and VSV for about $120... I'd need to get a t-case rebuild kit and find time... hmm.

anyone want to buy my t-case rebuild kit (gaskets, bearings, and seals)?

80 series Mule Expedition Rack with Ironman awning $350. This was Onur's rack, then Daisy's, now mine, and it could be yours. The rack is sectional, can be 4, 6, or 8 feet long. The powdercoat is poor, but the rack is stout and 2meter awning is in good shape.

Slee 80-series on-board-air system $250. Old system similar to Great Lakes Water Jet. Includes billet double-pulley for water pump, bracket, York compressor, air tank, regulator, pressure switch, and gauge. I currently have the compressor mounted without the peripherals and it works great.

OME 2 1/2" medium lift for 80-series $400. Medium coils with shocks. I can look up the shock numbers if needed. If you really wanted a heavy lift instead, I'll sell the one on my 80 for the same price, but you have to swap the medium in its place.

I can get pics of any of it if you are patient.
