That one is the green Swiss troopy that's been around NM for the last 5 years or so. I looked at it today, it would be sweet to have, but not worth $8k to me since it needs a bottom end in the 2f and is not legally imported yet. He isn't very negotiable at this point. It's really clean, though, and being lhd with only 100k miles, it would be a nice driver if it were fixed. If I could get the truck, import the truck, and fix the motor for equal or less than I could sell my current troopy for, I'd be all over it, but the market is down too much for that.

I am going to pick up the pop top troopy this week; should have one for sale soon.

David has one or two of them. ;)

I am surprised by how many 45s are poppin up.

Ali,
Where did you order these? I would like to order another two.

Thanks

LOL, shoulda taken them when you had the chance :flipoff2: Let me look through my emails for a receipt...

Shawn and I received this via email.

I think these would look good on Mike's truck:

37" tires 17" rims

:grinpimp:

Darn. Wheels are 8 lugs, I need 6 on 5.5" Keep looking though. These 35" Toyos are 18 months old and probably have close to 6,000 miles so they have to be replaced soon. :D

'96 FZJ80 in Taylor Ranch

Saw a '96 80 with 90K miles on it in a parking lot near my house. The truck is in fantastic shape but has no lockers. Color is 2-tone off-white and light blue. He claims to be the second owner and it has always lived in NM. It has the power moonroof and a towing hitch. He wants right about market value ($10,500) according to KBB/NADA though so I'll pass on it. If it was 2 or 3 grand cheaper I might consider it and worry about locking diffs later. PM me if you want the phone number.

Given today's environment, you might offer him 2 or 3 grand cheaper and see what he says. That price may have been reasonable last year, but I'm guessing he's not getting much response today. All he can do is say no.

It does sound like a nice truck.

I'd give him a week of no phone calls, then make the offer. Might sound better then and he might be considering lowering the price by then anyways.

I'd wait for the perfect 80 as they're falling out of the sky like flies....

A guy on craigslist was advertising his garage sale and stated, among other things, he had Land Cruiser for sale. So of course I emailed him. Here is his response:

Hi, it's basically rust-free, runs well, needs new springs or the originals re-bent, as it rides a little boat-like. Has a rebuilt engine, new power steering, custom roof rack, heavy-duty beaver winch, needs a little work on the brakes though they work fine. White, re-upholstered interior, cd player, roll bar, propane conversion (currently unhooked and runs on gasoline). Great rig.

I am asking $8,000 for it, which is a steal.

I'm out of internet at the moment, so feel free to call 714.366.5658

Prices are still plummeting

The guy with the white one in Farmington is getting more desparate. He's dropped the price $1,000 to $5,500.

That's more appropriate given the amount of mileage. I'd stay away from that one though in case you're tempted.

I'm not tempted. I haven't even sold the 60 yet. For that matter, I haven't even put much effort into selling it.

**** This is weird. I posted this shortly after Steve said he'd be looking seriously at this one if he was in the market but somehow it appears to have backwards in time and posted before Jazzworth even mentioned he was selling his 80 *******

Another 80 falling out of the sky...

Howdy,
I've got the itch to get a truck and with the good deals on Tundras, I thought this may be a good time. Robyn is snug in her little gas sipper, but she says a cruiser has to go before I get another vehicle and I REALLLLYYY don't want to sell the 40. So I thought if there was a *need* for an 80 in the group , I would offer mine up. If not, I'll just leep borrowing trucks to do lumber and dump runs and oh, darn, have to drive the 80 everyday! Hope all is well and maybe one day i can actually get back to wheeling with you!

Here's the high level:

1993 FZJ80
211,XXX
Locked
New Radiator and hoses (PHH too) and some knuckle blood left from changing the PHH)03/06
HG, Injectors, fuel filter, and another PHH just cause I could (wow, that was whole lot easier!) 7/07
Front end knuckle job, new rotors, 100 series pads (Thanks again Ali and CDan!!!!!!!!!!) 5/08
3"F 3.5"R OME med and heavy (tows much better and level)
CDL
BFG A/Ts
Paint is good with no dents. still has fender flares and roof rack
Front seats have the seams pulling away, the 2nd and third rows and carpet are in good shape. Windshield is nicked, and DS mirror is cracked
That's the skinny, market sucks so $6K or make me a real offer :crybaby:

Got any pics?

If I was in the market I'd be looking hard at this one.

I was already to head up to Colorado this weekend and get the truck when she threw a wrench in my plans so this is kind if sudden.

Sorry, long answer...
