Excitement! A big puzzle piece has arrived - Sanderson blockhuggers!

The exhaust route I’m foreseeing is the passenger side dropping down on the front side of the oil pan sump then turning 90 and tying in to a 2 - 1 pipe about frame level with a 3 bolt flange somewhere behind the bellhousing. We shall see…

Nearly a month without a post, not because I haven’t been doing anything!
What I thought would be a simple and straightforward fab project has been kicking my ass, but I think I have it on the run finally. Had some scrap steel and a brainstorm on how to make a pretty sweet transmission mount.
Did some searching around for a day or so and settled on 1978 - 1993 Dodge transmission mounts for the rubber cushion portion of the mounts. The crossmember is a section of 2-1/2” x 1-1/2”, 3/16” wall rectangular tubing that I’ve had set aside for such a project. The crossmember will mount to the frame via some short sections of 3” x 1/4” square tubing welded to some 1/4” scab plates.
I’ve had to make everything at least twice and am still not done.

Here’s some pics so you can see where I’m at…

Somewhere along the line I read where it was a good idea to use the same type mounts for the motor and transmission as far as rotational issues are concerned. So, that drove nuts coming up with a trans. mount using rubber bushings similar to spring bushings. I really like how you tied them to the frame ( easy to drop down ). Someday I'm redoing mine and go back to the oem transmission mount ( split case ) then might steal your idea for the sides. Good Job!

EDIT.... A month is totally unacceptable for an update and pictures...:)

Thanks Ron👍🏼

You’re right, a month is unacceptable. The only bright side is saving everybody three pages of pics of stuff that didn’t work! Really thought I’d be able to whip it out quick and get on to the next. Ha!
