man what a blast!!! it was too cool wheeling with the FJ's, thanks to eveyone one that came out and made it a great of wheeling :D

and a special thanks to Alan, for making this happen!!!

on a side note those that weren't able to attend, there might be another trail ride with the FJ in the future...... was talking it over with the FJ guys and we might be able to pull off a weekend of wheeling in Cullowhee this summer with them :D  so keep your fingers crossed :D

"Well you see what had happened was...." I was just minding my own business, driving down the trail, when a nice little rock decided to redirect my tires and the momentum of the cruiser plus no power steering ran me right up the bank of the washout and onto my side.... FUN STUFF! All was well though once one of the FJs winched me upright. No oil in the cylanders, fired up the first time and ran strong all day...

Alan... I've been informed you have a few fiberglass tops in your garage.... if you're willing to part with one, I may be in the market

Great pics guys! Awesome stuff! Looks like Alan's land has some fun trails.

So it looks like there were 3 FJ's there? Did they all have the locker / traction control combo?

Cool. Looks like 2 of 3 had an ARB on the front, too.

Sorry to see what happened to your 40 - pains me to see it. That is one nice ride. Good luck getting the top fixed.

Glad to see you all had fun. Sorry about the turn-over. Alex can tell you that without power steering you can get the wheel torn from your hands. I'm surprised those FJ guys don't mind scratching the paint. I do have a top available, it has minor issues.

Wish I could have been there.

One of the FJ guys, Tim, told my friend while he was driving that they don't care if you bust out the windshield or cause body-damage. Apparently they're just trying to get them to make it for the 8-month testing period and aren't to concerned about what happens to them during that time.

I'd like to have a look at that top... I have the steel at home for the corners and the other stuff i think, so i should be able to fix up a top if need be... That was the plan with this one, but that might be out the window now.... who knows, it's not a big deal, I'm in no hurry as summer is fast approaching which means bikini top time!

Glad to see you all made it out safe. That sure was fun, but nerve racking! Thanks for your patience with my fears. My wife and daughter really enjoyed the parts of the trail we did, but it was a little more technical than I had expected.

My wife really enjoyed the FJ, and its looks like one is in our near future (LC # 4 in the driveway). Smurf Blue. However, that's my girl, already making mods by using trees to take those silly mirrors off the FJ!

Funniest moment: the master mechanics from Toyota pulling up a fuel filter from JP's engine that is only connected on one side and looking at the various disconnected wires with no voltage regulator: Toyota Mechanic's diagnosis: "JP has a miracle truck - - it runs without gas or electricity." I am not kidding.

Best moment: seeing Jeff uninjured and still smiling after his 40 cranked right back up, with 0 oil leeking into the cylinders. 0. That's one tuff truck.

The yellow one I drove was automatic traction control and locker pretty awesome but you cant use traction and locker at the same time. Tim told me toyota will have that fixed by tthe next model yr though. I couldnt spin wheels at all though in the mud. I had to just hit it as hard as I could to throw mud. I turned it off and still couldnt get much going on. As for the bumpers and winches they looked good and that dude tim can respool them so well they look like they havent been used. It was definitely a good day and I definitely recommend them. I just want a little restyling. I didn't like the huge blind spot or the inability to tell where the front of the vehicle was in relation to everything else. Fun times though hope everyone can get out if they do another event like they said.

Glad to hear it David, we can't wait to see her on the trail, it is nice to see a cruiser chick not afraid of body damage :D

Looks like you guys had a great time. I glad to hear it. Wish I could have made it. Next time for sure. Nice pictures also. So I take it that the guys from Toyota were impressed?

Haha... the guys from toyota were impressed all right... At my lack of driving ability which equated to rolling my rig and JP's ghetto-fabulous mechanics for his 40... I love what David D. reminded me of, Tim the Toyota driver "so no gas, and no electrical... how does this thing run?" someone else, "Magic!"

selfless club members

A BIG KUDOS TO THE MEMBERS WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN!
Filling Toyota's bill, so well, on such short notice, at personal sacrific
to members, is above and beyond the call of duty.
Alan always comes through. No surprize there.
Looks like Jeff needs HAMOM round of applause.
JP running on Magic? I like it! :grinpimp:
Cruiserchicks doing damage. I LOVE that!
Great pics Richard! LOL...have you been converted to
an FJCite yet?
Selfless sacrific took place and the bond to Toyota has
been cemented.

Nope, I wont buy one until its restyled. I just didnt like the blindspots sitting behind that wheel, and I have never liked some of the styling issues from day one. I've never had a problem with its mechanically though everything seemed to say it would do great offroad and it proved that to me. They are supposed to make it where you can lock it with the traction control for the next model yr according to tim so then people wouldnt have to ghetto wire it. So I guess I'd say I'm doing what a lot of people would do waiting a couple yrs for the bugs to be worked out.

Carnage Report....

Well here's the damage....
