Just found this thread through search.
I am trying to convert my arm-strong steering over to power and plan to use a similar setup.
The main difference would be the steering box that I currently have is from an '85 forerunner.
My question is will the 80 series hoses work on the forerunner steering box or will I have to have a new connection put onto the high pressure hose at the box end.
Thanks for any help.
The 4runner box sits the in same place as stock.

My main concern was the size of the fittings. Toyota seems to make things that are interchangeable.
So you lengthened your pressure hose?
Is that something that can be done at home? No special equipment?
Sorry for the questions, I'm not familiar with pressure hoses. Thought they needed a press or something to be made.
Thanks for the help.
I guess if nothing else, I can have a pressure hose made to length and insert a small tranny cooler on the return hose.

BTW, I think I have my high and low press lines screwed up.

The pressure and return hard lines are different between 4x and 6x chassis, because the PS box is in a different location and the cooler line is on a different shaped frame. Can you take a picture of the hard lines? I'm interested to see if they are the same as FJ62/FJ80.
High Pressure Port - 16 x 1.5 MM Inverted Flare to #6 JIC Male adapter, Toyota - 'PSC Motorsports' #PSC-SF06 or 'Summit Racing' #EAR-9919DFJERL
Low Pressure Port - 17 x 1.5 MM Inverted Flare to #6 JIC Male adapter, Toyota - 'PSC Motorsports' #PSC-SF07
As I understand it the smaller port is the press side.
Or
LEE MFG. CO in Sun Valley CA

has
16mm x 1.5 inverted flare to #6jic for the pressure side and
17mm x 1.5 inverted flare to #6jic for the return side for
$8 each

Mace,
Thanks for the info on Lee Mfg. I also found out that they make Vapor recovery tanks. I already have a design for one to replace the plastic factory recovery tank. If the quote is reasonable, I'll order one and post photos of the install.
