FJ80 Front windshield glass replacement ?

I had my glass swapped in my 97', had to go back twice to get it seated properly, it was leaking at the corners. Dude kept telling me it was the sunroof leaking until I went there and shoved a napkin in the corner and poured water on the glass to show him the leak. Lead tech finally got it sorted out, hasn't leaked since.

OEM windshield was made by PGW and they're no longer in existence from what I believe.

I just looked up the windshield glass at my local dealership and it looks available.

If you try to order it, they'll update their database and I'd bet it shows NLA.

One (and only one) of the green tinted windshields (56111-60190) showed up on an overseas web site a week ago but I was too slow and it was sold before I could order it. The website now shows 0 in stock. The original 80 series blue tint windshield part number shows as discontinued.

So that makes you wonder, was it something they just found laying around (NOS) or was it recent production shipped in from Japan?? IDK

FWIW, talking to a couple of SouthEast Toyota region parts depts they show that green windshield number as still good, but none available (been that way for at least a year). But then again (as the Forum parts gurus know) SET's parts order/tracking system does not interface with Toyota's Parts system.

Well, I just went to order that windshield I needed and showed “in stock” and uh…. Gladstone dealer said that they don’t have it after all
