I was looking at some rooftop tents...the 1 that rlly interest me uses LST or Light Suppression Texhnology. Made by 23Zero. Keeps the light out
...hows the light coming thru the material on your set up?
This is a sunbrella fabric... its pretty much a blackout setup. No real light unless windows are down

right on. Been giving this ALOT of thought. I think this would be easier for me to get in/out of than any of the roof top models. Older I get the more I have to get up in the middle of the nite...those ladders look a lil iffy for an old fat guy...lol

Spent Veterans Day getting the tracks and roof rack put on. Weighs about 50# so it closes a little easier now ;) . I love the front runner racks and this one fit perfect.

So im looking to insulate the top from condensation and to winter camp. Obviously need to make some walls around the tent part. However what do you think of the roof portion- could I get away with doing the panels in between the bars or do you think I need a blanket across the whole thing... Im not sure what constitutes "thermal bridges" or if that would really change much in this application. My preferred method would be doing the panels, not the entirety of the roof...

closed cell spray foam... I will look into this. ideally I wouldn't need more than a 1/2" and hopefully a nice looking, even coating. I ordered the 3M thinsulate today so I can really vanlife it up... it will go in every door and panel I can get to. Ive been looking at every troopy build I can find so I have ideas. The Alu-Cab Hercules is essentially what I have and people have been doing cool stuff with it.
-Ive reached out to a couple aluminum honeycomb panel providers and instead of the sliding panels I will be doing a 70/30 raising, gas strut platform like the Alu-Cab Hercules. Vid below.
-Im planning a mini cabinet buildout too using some 80/20 aluminum. something that goes over the wheel wells and boxes it off so I can both sit and have storage. Trying to keep overall height below the windows for aesthetic purposes and to maybe eventually go gull wing.
-Debating on how far to go with the galley. I definitely want a fridge (dometic cfx35 as of now) and possibly just a place to put my cook partner stove. I was thinking sink but im not exactly sure on the utility of it. Ive never had one camping so I don't actually know what Id use it for. Plus all the weight in water, pumps etc.

I just had my new shop sprayed with spray foam insulation just a heads up it not fire resistant I had to spraythe foam with fire resistant paint on the ceiling and cover the walls with metal

Got the billet one sanded, color matched and drilled for my egt and boost gauge, so happy with how it turned out. Anybody need a mint plastic one??
Also snagged some touch up paint so I can touch up the dash.

Also the fifteen52 analog wheels are back in stock so I have those and some toyo m55 285 85 r16s on next week. This might be the most expensive year I’ve had since I purchased my rig 12 years ago!
Will have my American racing Mojave Teflon 15” wheels for sale in Seattle area shortly
Those Analogs are on my wish list. Interested to see how they fit up and clear.

Got the tires put on today. took them to les schwab but they evvvver so slightly rubbed the TRE so they wouldn't install them. So had to take them home and do it in this rain and wind storm. ground a little bit off the TRE and they clear fine. Love the look of the tall skinnies and these old school looking wheels. M55s are noticeably quieter than the MTs. Here are some posers:

I normally park next to other LC's when I can but yours would make mine look so shabby. 😁. It looks amazing! Award winning

Those have the mountain-snowflake winter rating in that size? I see at least some sizes do online. Interested to hear how they perform after a winter.
