Fj55 - Optional ideas for Headliner!!!

All,

Who has any alternative ideas/options for a headliner on a pig, versus trying to install a new one? Something that looks decent and way less of a pain in the a**! Apologies if this has been brought up before. Shoot me links!

Use a piece of plastic I channel for the joints with flexible glue. Secure to the ribs with big head screws. I would put some waterproof insulation up first

Take it to an automotive upholstery shop. Might be cheaper than you assume if you still have all the rods. Or maybe not if done correctly since you need to have the windshield and cargo windows removed. But if you just want something relatively nice up there then it’s probably worth an inquiry.

I think there is a guy here on Mud that did nice wood planks on a 60. Looked retro! @TRAIL TAILOR may have done an engine swap on it and may have pics.

Not in my 55, but on a DOD job we used 1inch foam insulation with a perforated vynal that can be obtained in different sizes and colors

I'll have to find a pic of it installed, but it significantly reduced cab noise for me.

X2 with the vinyl over sound deadener, I used Dynomat. The vinyl is the original 72 lining cleaned up and trimmed away from the seams
