Just finished the build of my 1969 pig. On my second shake out test drive I took my wife with me whose only request during the build was she needed air conditioning…we live in Vegas. She liked the drive but about 25 miles in she said “where are the cup holders?”

I found the FJ40 cup holder thread which had some good ideas, but I am concerned about the transmission shifter and the front of the bench seat. I am hoping that all you pig owners will post pictures of your cup holder solutions. I suppose one of you will post the roll of duct tape sitting on the trans tunnel.

Anyone use this solution? Bench Seat Cruiser Console - https://www.cupholdersplus.com/bench-seat-cruiser-console.html

Thanks!

Simple is sometimes eloquent…

Nope. Makes what’s supposed to be cold warm and what’s supposed to be warm cold!
Indeed. But at least the high beams would be on full display.

The better cup holders seem to be in a center console or somewhere centrally mounted. That bench seat console looks like it would do the trick for you if you could get one to match that sweet ass bench seat you have there. Either that or make something similar and see if your upholstery guy can cover it with the same material.

I wanted to keep the original bench seats but mine felt like I was sitting directly on the springs. When I removed everything I found badly degraded foam, ten broken springs, and the bottom front support bar cracked in five places. I had to weld a metal support bar all across the front after bending it to shape. The upholstery guy, who works out of a shop in his home garage, fixed or replaced all the broken springs. I really liked his color and support design and he charged me only $1800 for both bench seats. The SOR kit was $815 x2 so seemed like a no brainer. I ordered some free color samples from that console company but your suggestion is good about my guy matching it exactly.

If you're gonna have a bench seat, yours would be the one. Very nice upholstery work!

Thanks. Sort of a mini bucket seat built into a bench seat with a little two tone color and stitching flair. The upholstery guy worked some magic!
