Price isn't bad. I mean, it's a lot of money, but I paid $650+ for new, off-the-shelf Toyota reman calipers, pads, and rotors for the front of my 100. This isn't out of line at all.

I received my box from SOS today, looks nice but sadly no photos or diagrams. If anyone has pics of their brackets installed that would be most appreciated...

Good feedback.....

I just posted a comment on your thread.....if you don't have Tom's e-mail address, send me an IM, and I'll message it to you.

I know this is an older thread but... I found out that Sequoia rear disc brakes will clear a 15" Ultra brand alloy wheel by about a 1/16"

I did not use the SOS kit. I bought a used set of rear axles / brake assemblies from an auto recycler and made my own mounts to the axle tube. I have the H55 and wanted disc brakes and parking brake, this seemed like a good solution. I still need to connect the parking brake cables.

Can you share more pictures and details about your install? This is very intriguing.

I bought the Sequoia rear axles with brake assemblies and had the axles pressed out. I then pressed out the inner races of the bearing hubs. The bearing hub is made of cast steel and hardened for the bearing race. After I cut off the original axle housing flange, I ground out the inside of the hub until it was large enough to slide over the axle housing. I cut off one of the original brake hose ends for the caliper and welded on an air hose nipple. With everything assembled and air supplied to the caliper to hold it all in place, I welded the old bearing hub to the axle housing as a flange to mount the brake backing plate. Yes, cast steel will weld to the axle housing. In hid sight, I would have kept the original axle flange and modified it to mount the Sequoia brake backing plate.

I am very curious to see if the dash mount parking brake handle will generate enough tension for these sequoia parking brake. I’ve heard it does not for the Monte Carlo, although I recognize this is different with the tophat style disk with internal parking drum

Anyone ever finish this? I'm contemplating parking brake options. I do plan to add the tcase brake back (PO ripped it out). I've decided against a line lock b/c that's not really what it's purpose is.

I’m headed in a similar direction but custom brackets with no welding on the 60 housing.
5th gen 4Runner calipers and rotors. Park brake on xfercase.

I'll have my 8/80 (FJ60) rear brake kit ready for sale in a few weeks Tone. Parts are in production and I actually just took a few orders for them.

Minimum rim size for these?
